Those are actually some good ideas but not enough to stop this constant illegal invasion. Until we can adopt a better immigration policy something that favors a countries like Mexicos in nature then we need to secure the border or better yet temporally close the southern border all together.

Republicans want to tie the bill to border security so they say no. I hate when politicians (from both sides) tie completely unrelated issues together to hold funds hostage.

I hate that as well. This is also why we have huge deficits. Politicians tack completely unelated bullshit onto every bill and make unrelated bullshit a condition for voting to approve the bill. This is also why bills are so long that no one actually reads them including the politicians that vote for or against.

Edit: I am OK with voting against funding Ukraine defense if an elected official does not see it as being in our best interest. I am not OK with voting against it because of some unrelated other thing like illegal immigration prevention. Those are separate issues and should be debated and voted on separately.

It's in our self interest to defend our own borders first and foremost. Nothing else really matters if we can't do that. It makes no sense to defend the borders of foreign countries, while our border is wide open and our country is being flooded with foreign nationals.
