Report: UFC vets being considered to replace ‘Tank’ Davis against Jake Paul

How can he say he wants to be champ and never fight his weight class and ranked. Purely for money

Bro, what?

He was going to fight one of the best in the world who is professionally ranked boxer and a champion lol. That pro boxer is having issues. It's not Jake causing it haha.

Please tell me you are joking, Otherwise you went retard.. Jake is likely 50+ pounds heavier than Davis.

If the guy would at least fight dudes his own size I could respect it. I'm sure there are unranked boxers his own size that would be a decent test of his skills.

But this is just stupid. He's basically like Andy Kaufman with his intergender championship except Jake is doing it for real, and just beating up on guys that are either small or old, frequently both.

Ngannou vs Jake Paul would bring money and ratings. Right choice. Freak circus fight.

Joking about what exactly?

The poster I replied to was saying Jake will do anything except fight a pro ranked boxer even though he outweighs him by a heap.

Davis is still a pro boxer and world champion. He's literally one of the best boxers on the planet right now. Whatever Jake's weight is doesn't change take any of that away from Tank and how good he is.

And it's not Jake causing this fight to fall through. It's Tank getting in some trouble with his own ex. You can't blame that on Jake haha.

I hope it does end up happening. I think Tank will still bodybag Jake despite the weight difference.

What ranked boxer in his weight class would he deserve to fight?

Then he should be working his way up like others.. He is fighting way smaller guys or over the hill MMA guys. There would be a lineup of boxers ranked above him that would be willing to fight them.. If he wanted to work his way to a title he could easily try.

Jake Paul and Most Valuable Promotions are reportedly considering former Ultimate Fighting Championship stars to replace Gervonta “Tank” Davis in an upcoming boxing match.

Paul was originally scheduled to fight Davis in an exhibition match on Nov. 14 in Miami. However, the Netflix show is now in jeopardy after Davis’ ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, filed a civil lawsuit in Miami-Dade County, accusing the lightweight champion of aggravated battery and other charges.

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix initially reported that Paul was considering Ryan Garcia and Terence Crawford as viable options to replace “Tank.” Ring Magazine’s Mike Coppinger more recently revealed that former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and fan favorite Nate Diaz are also being looked at. The Netflix show could also be postponed to December.

Ngannou (18-3) parted ways with the UFC in 2023 and signed up with Professional Fighters League. “The Predator” suffered a split decision loss in his boxing debut against Tyson Fury before being knocked out by Anthony Joshua. Ngannou has since made his PFL debut, defeating Renan Ferreira in brutal fashion last year.

Meanwhile, Diaz (21-13) retired from the UFC with a win over Tony Ferguson in 2022. The Stockton native has since a dropped a decision in his boxing debut against Paul before rebounding with a decision win in a boxing match against Jorge Masvidal.

I bet he has little pee pee issues , that’s why he’s putting hands on her

replacement options: ryan garcia, terrence crawford, ngannou and nate diaz. I can guarantee that three of those will not be considered.

Huge difference between those two.

He already beat a smaller, out-of-prime Nate. Now Nate is several years older and has been inactive for years except for a boxing match vs. an equally old/shot Masvidal. Absolutely pointless. Almost as bad as rematching Woodley or the current version of Askren.

Ngannou is only a year younger than Nate, but like twice as big, with legit KO power (even with 12-ounce boxing gloves) and not as shot.

what's the age requirement... the usual 4X.... maybe moved up to 50 as its been a few years for jake? Perhaps another 60+ year old.
