Renan Barao was 32-1 (32 win streak) BW champ at one point

Khabib has wins over Colon, Dustin, Justin, RDA, Barboza, Johnson, Raging Al.

Barao's top wins are....Faber, Picket, McDonald, Jorgensen, Wineland.

Lmao at anyone who thinks that is equivalent.

Interesting question is what happens if Barao fights Cruz rather than Dillashaw?

I think thats a better style matchup for him personally, Dillashaw I think exposed his boxing defence but Cruz likely wouldnt pressure him that way and I could see his kicks being effective on Dom

Got hurt real bad 3 times in a span of a year or so TJ/head butted sink during a weight cut/TJ.

The ending of the 2nd TJ fight was fucking brutal like 5 car accidents in a couple of blinks. Whatever was left of him as a fighter died that night.

He was considered unbeatable, and was a 10-1 favorite over Dillashaw.

People act like Rousey fell off a cliff for losing to Holm and Nunes. Barao's fall is only rivaled by Hendricks'.
"Barao's fall is only rivaled by Hendricks"

BJ and Tony say hi.

Was TJ on EPO then? He may be a bigger victim than Cody

Not to sound like a complete casual but his record against "guys with wikipedia pages" was always far less impressive

At BW, maybe
At that point he had 9 fights in the UFC/WEC.

So that's unlikely.
Khabib only had 3-4 more fights in the UFC and many consider him the LW GOAT.
According to Khabib fans yeah
Was the first thing that came to mind.
Why do people bring up the goat into every thread on sherdog.

Give it a rest.
It’s due to their similar early dominance.
Remember that until facing a later “disgraced” Dillashaw, that besides a NC (not his fault) all of his wins came after his debut loss.

While it’s not necessarily apples and oranges, the narrative would have been extremely similar had Barao retired after the 2nd Faber bout.

Extremely padded record, won via size and weight cutting
Green McDonald, journeyman Wineland and Faber are his best wins.
And the second Faber fight ended on punches to the shoulder and a thumbs up from Faber

He's 2-9 for a reason at the end of his career with a 6 fight losing streak
