Reminder : McGregor Said He Would Defend Both Belts

I remember when he refused to fight Khabib because he wasn't active enough.
 
Had Aldo and RDA not pussied out, Conor would have had 3 belts and multiple defenses.
 
...then opportunity knocked so hard at this door (to the tune of $100 M), so his plan understandably changed.

I guess if you asked a woman to marry you, and then later found out that she has been sleeping with ten other guys behind your back, and is now pregnant, from one of you, and has given you an STD, then you go ahead and marry her anyway because you said you would do it?

Conor planned to defend both belts, there is zero reason to think otherwise.

Circumstances changed that plan, RDA pulled out, he lost to Diaz, so he wanted to get that back, if he hadn't you'd be creating a thread taking the piss out him for being scared of Nate right now.

After Alvarez he went after Mayweather.... Stop me when you can find an unreasonable course of action somewhere?

During all this he's been renegotiating and new contract which when you are dealing with a guy who brings in hundreds of millions is not a simple tasks and takes time.

Every fighter that has fought or will ever fight in the UFC would take the same path Conor took if they had the chance. To believe that someone who fights for a living would turn down the biggest paychecks is very dense of you. This is a job to every fighter out there, they aren't doing it for fun.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. Sports entertainment is a game. Talk the talk, walk the walk, and that walk better be exciting.

He became the highest paid UFC fighter ever without ever having to defend a belt. He took calculated career moves at the right time. He made a rematch with a non-contender lw the biggest ppv in ufc history. With his draw power and mouth he talked himself into the biggest SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT fight ever with floyd. That wasnt a serious boxing fight, it was two superstars having an exibition match.

Everybody can thank Aldo for mentally crumbling before the fight and getting himself koed in 13 seconds. Fucking bjj black belt with vicious leg kicks went for an overcommited combo vs a top level southpaw counter striker with longer reach. We wouldnt be here if it wasnt for Aldo.
