Media Reinier de Ridder (MW) weighed more than Jiří Procházka (LHW) on UFC 311 Fight Night

Should Jiří consider dropping down to 185 ?

His recovery time is good, yes, but the chin itself is suspect. Someone with a good chin gets hit hard and cleanly and doesn't seem affected. Jiri, on the other hand, has been dropped in nearly all of his fights, and was even out in the fight against Reyes.
Just fuckin stop bro

No one who gets hit that often and comes out on top with all finishes has a suspect chin. Just quit sherdogging completley lmao.

So all the hw's except Mark Hunt has a sus chin? lmao0

A little overblown. Many of his best wins in Japan he was the heavier guy if I can recall. It's not like he was consistently fighting Overeem, Ngannou, and Lesnar sized guys (not including freak show fights).
He fought ENOUGH big guys that it is quite notable.

It's notable, but it's pretty clear people are trying to make it seem like he's the Frankie Edgar of the heavyweights, when he wasn't. Fighting at 235 pounds or whatever wasn't weird for HW. Fedor's career even overlaps with the open weight era, there were guys who would be 145 pounds today fighting heavyweights during Fedor's time.

Think about all the post and threads you've seen about Fedor being undersized then compare them to how often that narrative is brought up with Courture. Randy probably fought MORE bigger guys than Fedor did, but because Randy's career isn't as clean or glorified no one really cares about that.

A lot of 205ers have gone up and had a lot of success at HW. It is probably the easiest jump to make. It's just insanely glorified.

you wasted alot of time typing that instead of WAR FEDOR

So, Jiri is one of the few who fights at his regular weight?
Weight cutting is an abomination.

Kinda funny that Jiri will purposely rub stinging nettle all over himself as a test of pain endurance but cutting weight for a fight is where he draws the line

When Jiri talked about moving to 185, people said he was crazy. And that he was too big for MW.

It proves the point that you can't tell how big someone is just by looking at him. People confused frame size with actual weight; the UFC commentators do this all the time.
Anecdotal evidence:

I remember way back when I did judo as a young fella, we had morning-of weigh ins for tournaments and it was always surprising to see the differences between competitors in the same weight class.

You'd see tall thin guys and short stocky guys and think, mm. I guess they're the same mass but in different shapes.

But you'd also see guys who just WERE bigger- broader shoulders, bigger hands, taller. These guys weren't able to cut more weight, beyond maybe a few pounds, but they just looked distinctly bigger.

It's like their bodies aren't as dense or something. I think it comes down to leg thickness, especially the thighs.

Look at mark hunts legs. They are mini fridges. He was a proper hw, but is only 5'10".

In my honest opinion Jiri looked heavier than Jamal and Hill isn't even ripped.

Holland's weightclass switching backfires, he often gets grapplefucked at MW and should stay at WW

Okami was labelled as "huge MW" during his whole UFC stint. Rogan and Goldbeg parroted it every single time, and many shertards parrot it as well

He wasnt even above average for the division and competed at WW almost half of his career

The argument against it I spose is that Jiri has a very aggressive cardio intensive style which potentially benefits from not having cut water weight.

The big issue I spose is how long does Alex remain as LHW champ? although honestly these days it seems hype carries over between divisions pretty well so I could see Jiri only having to fight at 185lbs once to proove he can before he gets a title shot.
