Based on how much capital they seem to be able to raise, i think they can go on at least a couple of years, and hopefully have built a big enough audience by then to be profitable. Not saying it will happen, but i get the impression that's what they're aiming for.

Like a year and a half ago I guessed 2-3 years. Add now the whole corona situation, that isn't going to help fight promotions either. Though the shitty joke with ONE has been that they will probably live longer since they can't actually run events now.

It will never be as profitable as those services. But i think they just need to reach that treshold where they become profitable enough for thd investors to recover their investments. I think they're more purpose driven than profit driven. If investors only wanted high returns, they would probably have invested that money in other companies lol.

I think the investors wanted a high return on the investment. The fertitta brothers invested something like 20 or 40 million in ufc. They were about to pull the plug before the success of the ultimate fighter and the forest griffin v stephan bonnar fight. Even before the ultimate fighter ufc had some good pay per views, good ticket sales and good vhs sales. The investors in singapore saw the ferrtittas getting billions back fromm their 20 - 40 million initial investment and that is what attracted them to ONE i would say.
Chartri sells ONE as the asian UFC.
But asian has no tradition of buying pay per views and a lot of asian countries won't pay high prices for tickets. If ONE changed to a pay perview model now i don't see myself buying one.

I suppose Chatri has good connections with investors. I suppose they're smart people aswell and understand risk. If they put all their money into ONE, it's not a smart move. But as you said, most companies fail within a few years. Most of their profits will probably come from very few succesful ventures. Well, if they eventually go broke, at least they brought some attention to otherwise unknown Muay Thai fighters and provided them with a good income. It's a good thing after all.

With so much free time lately and almost zero live fights on the schedule, I have started watching all the One FC cards I missed in order starting from about a year ago. Great stuff. Should take me a few weeks to get caught up to present and by then hopefully live fights are back on the schedule again. They really went heavy on kickboxing and muay thai in the last couple of years and have a lot more cards in the ring as a result. It's kind of random how they use the MMA gloves for many bouts and some they don't. It's all free on YouTube with great production values so I can't complain. I'd be a lot more engaged to follow the cards closely every week including the MMA bouts if there were more consistent odds for it from the sportsbooks instead of just once in a while for the big cards.

John Wayne Parr is nothing right now , what is he gonna do in ONE FC ? At 70 KG half the guy there would would make John their girlfriend in 2 rounds .
Even a no chined Yodsanklai would own him .

Hell there's a channel that uploaded Kulabdam VS Bobo Sacko on YouTube ( video got taken down copyright think ) and it made 600 K + views , a good church of those who viewed where guy who've never watched Muay Thai or Thai fighter and yet they all loved it , BTW Kulabdam wasn't even that ready at all for the fight and it was first time at 65 KG .
Sangmanee VS Azize which was a bad fight style made like 400 K views .
Now imagine those guy putting great fight against : Alaverdi , Nong-O , Muangthai , Kongsak , Saemapetch , Zhang , Liam Harrison , Rodlek , Bobo Sacko ( Sangmanee Vs Bobo is a damn good fight ) , etc... you think they would generate as much cash as Nong-O or Rodtang ?

That YouTube views from Kulabdam VS Bobo wasn't on ONE FC official channel it was on "sport schedule" i think .
Chatri doesn't pay other channel to give views lol .

Sam-A may be old but he is in a natural weigh-class for him and is still fighting some of the best in the world ( like Wang and Haggerthy ) and is a 3 time world champion ( first ever ) and is currently a dominant champion in both KB and MT .
I say let him shine for a year or more but meanwhile make Kiewpayak kick 5-6 guy and let Sam-A vacate ( don't wanna see him get beat by Kewpayak ) maybe let him keep his KB belt but let Kiewpayak get the Muay Thai one .

Japanese guy you mean Naito? Naito vs Rodtang would be good. And they both "lost" to Tenshin.

Naito got destroyed twice by Tenshin in the first round .

No one , but he has proved that he is a top tier foreigner at 61 KG there is no denying it .
He did good for a foreigner against Superlek ( until the elbow ) and gave Rodtang a very hard fight the first time .
Even in the Second fight he still showed great courage and bravery even while getting crushed around the ring .
