MT/KB Japan Recent fights/results/news from Japan II

I want Kaew in Glory. There is nothing for him in K1 at the moment. At 65kg in Glory he will have opponents like Adamchuk, Vargas, Amrani, Saenchai (if he stays) and hopefully Robin Van Roosmalen if he goes down to 65kg.
I agree but at the same time I'd love to see the Glory guys mix it up with Noiri, Yamazaki, and Bulaid too. This feels like UFC and Pride all over again!

While I'd like to see Kaew fight those guys I don't really think any of those guys are particularly better than his K1 opponents, and Glory is just terrible with providing consistent matchups for his weight class.

Honestly, the thing I'm hoping Glory does is axe some of its weight classes that it no longer has the critical mass of talent to support (FW, MW) and set up a consistent cadence of fights for its marquee divisions (LW, HW)

Disagree. Saenchai, Adamchuk, Robin Van Roosmalen and maybe even Varga are better then the guys he fights in K1. Amrani out of all the guys i mentioned is probably the only one that isn't but Amrani still always dangerous.

Saenchai might not be better in kickboxing, but stylistically he brings something that is different from everyone in K-1. Kaew isn't getting free step power kicks and knee kill shots against Saenchai.

I agree that Saenchai and Adamchuk would be more interesting fights than anything on the horizon than anything in K-1 at the moment. Doubt RvR is dropping down, especially with the shit he's talking about Glory.

Difference of opinion on Amrani and Varga. Not to KickboxingMath, but I don't really have a high opinion of the legacy Glory FW division as they were all defeated by Noiri and Kubo before they split (Amrani beat Kubo, but that was after Noiri defeated him and started him on his slide to irrelevance). Varga and Amrani really only maintained their rankings as they were like the only two guys in the division before Adamchuk.

I love Glory MW just because of what a total train wreck it is. The Levin-Marcus fiasco, the Fang Bian KO, the Kato KOs, and guys like Dustin Jacoby and Wayne Barrett are the ones that will have to pick up the pieces. The wreck keeps going on but I just cant stop watching lol

we need sittichai vs kaew for the new 67.5 title
lol nah sitti would be too big and strong at that weight. Would rather see sittichai against Yod at 70kg. I think Yod is a better kickboxer then Kaew but just hasn't achieved as much.

with no clinch the size advantage doesnt matter near as much and truthfully 67kg is still sittichai's natural weight class he just fights at 70kg because that is where the money and fights are. So if kaew wants to be 67.5kg champ he should not be worried about anyone who can make the weight

I hope no one misunderstands this because kaew is good but their is probably 10 guys that can beat him under kb rules that fight in the thai stadiums. I would put my money on saenchai if they fought in k1 for sure and we all agree his style doesnt even translate to kickboxing

We get to see this Tenshin guy fight. Anyone know anything about his opponent?

Can't believe Kunlun sign Tenshin before K-1. Does anyone know is this a one-time thing or they sign him to a multiple-fight contract?

Most likely just this time. Could see exciting guys from this getting called up for more fights though.

Technically, this event is a co-promotion between Kunlun and REBELs so its a one-off.

However, given that BLADE promotion has fallen apart with Big Bang/RISE talent abandoning BLADE for K-1 (Kido, Komiyama, Uehara, Soda to a lesser effect and possibly Hinata) and the NO KICK NO LIFE brand going through a reboot in September, people are expecting that the remainder of the BLADE alliance pivots to becoming a sort of Kunlun branch in Japan to fight K-1 Japan.

K-1 presser going on now.

- 60kg Tournament lineup
-- Reserve fight: Toshi vs Koji
-- Semi-final 1: Taiga vs Javier Hernandez
-- Semi-final 2: Urabe Hirotaka vs Johannes Wolfe
-- Semi-final 3: Urabe Koya vs Karim Bennoui
-- Semi-final 4: Komiyama Kosuke vs Paulo Tebar

Koji spoiled the fact that Komiyama was in the tournament in a Q&A ('What do you mean that loser who dropped a fight vs. some unknown Chinese is in the tournament and I'm not') before he was announced.

Some fun fights (Hernandez vs Taiga sounds awesome). Too many Japanese though. Apparently they offered Yun Qi (who Komiyama lost too) a slot, but he asked to be slotted into the 57.5kg tournament instead.

Awesome tournament! Both Taiga and Wolf looked god-tier in their last fights, so hopefully we see them in an epic showdown in the semifinals.

taiga vs. wolf will be fire.

and it sounds cool as hell.

Half of fighters in the tourney are Japanese again, but oh well K-1 Japan gonna be Japan-centric.

I have a dream that one day a good Thai fighter other than Kaew will join K-1.
