MT/KB Japan Recent fights/results/news from Japan II

Thanks! I guess the outcome was expected...
Yeah he's not a ranged specialist, perfectly handpicked Thai for Takeru to look good against
Shame ONE FC will block Takeru/Rodtang from happening, that would be very competitive

Pretty much the result I expected.

Takeru can now claim that he has beaten Thai champions just like Tenshin, setting up Tokyo Dome extravaganza.

Honestly the Japanese fighters have really been proving that they have developed a deep talent pool in the weight classes from 55-70kg. I don't doubt that a top fimeu could kick Takeru or Tenshin from the outside to get a win, but anyone who doesn't have a Rodtang level chin will be in danger of getting slept fighting either one of them.

I am going with Tenshin winning by 2 close decisions on a way to become the tourney champion.
(Rungkit beat Shiro by UD, Tenshin beat Suakim by MD or extra round decision, and then beat Rungkit by UD in the final)
To beat Tenshin in Japan you would need a KO or a knockdown and I doubt either Suakim or Rungkit could do it.

BTW Tenshin is holding the "If you beat Tenshin under boxing rule you get 10 million Yen" thing. So if any of you want to apply go ahead lol

I've been re-watching some of Tenshin and Takeru's matches and read a bit about the history of their rivalry. I'm not sure if the fight will ever be made, but who would you take to win? Personally I am leaning towards Takeru to win. He doesn't look as flashy, but as far as I can tell, his fundamentals are more sound than Tenshin's, and I don't see him getting KO'd very easily. I could see him winning close on points or by a late TKO if he manages to catch Tenshin the right way.

How does Takeru have better fundamentals? To me Tenshin lools to have better technique, distance control and timing. Takeru seems tougher and more powerful though, i can see him win by overpowering tenshin

While watching Takeru's fights, I would often go back and look at exchanges again and notice that many times he was not actually getting hit and was using subtle slick defense. It looks to me like he has good low kicks and a good jab, which I think could give Tenshin trouble if he is able to land it consistently. I do agree that Tenshin has better timing and cleaner technique, however I feel that Takeru has better footwork and he could use it along with his power and jab to overwhelm Tenshin.

I have not been training or a fan of Kickboxing as long as a lot of you guys, so I could definitely be off with my analysis of things, though.

This is how I see it. Takeru tends to leave himself open, but hits harder and has killer instinct. Not that Tenshin doesn't I just see Takeru as the more powerful fighter with a lot of speed. Tenshin has more flash mixed with good fundamentals.

As an intro to combo spam. His jab game is very basic. Tenshin more slick with it.

That's pretty fair. I guess that's why I tend to lean more towards Takeru winning, I usually tend to favor the more powerful looking fighter. There's not really anyone for either of them to fight (other than a rematch with Rodtang on Tenshin's part), so hopefully it will get made soon and we can find out

Since nobody mentioned it here Takeru is getting hand surgery and will be out for at least 6 months :(

Bagdan was quite tough. The skill gap was apparent but he did well against Tenshin considering his experience.

Also, Taiga has lost 4 of his last 5 fights and is winless for the past 20 months. You see Rizin, this is what happen when you try to delay the fight against Tenshin. There went all the momentum.

Taiga is done. Either he gets a new team now and a coach that will get him to move his head after he punches, or his career is as good as over.
