Why not? The hypothetical wall wouldn't be there to deter legal immigrants who are looking to become citizens.

I’m all for a strong border just like 98% of liberals but I’m just not willing to pay tens of billions for it while we have an opioid epidemic, poverty and homelessness, infrastructure problems, healthcare issues and all the other problems facing our county. There is nothing inherently wrong with a border wall.

A bit of a vague poll there @OeuvrePressure I really don't care. Wall, no wall, I'm all for tighter boarder control but at the same time I believe those who are truly oppressed and are looking for a better life should be given opportunity. But if you looking just to f*k with people and spread ideological beliefs in religion or politics "You Must Go"...!

There's nothing vague about it??

I just dont like the idea of a wall

RIght now we want to keep people out ..... WHat happens when that same wall is also used to keep you in as other walls have been used for in the past ?

I dont trust our government enough for the idea of walls to not give me the creeps

Long as we are actively destabilizing countries I'm for open borders. We get what we deserve.

I kind of agree with this. But you gotta admit that there's something strange in the neighborhood with the sudden influx of Muslim refugees.

Immigration is awesome, legal immigration is even better.
It's this whole refugee thing that's fishy.

People equate the two, but they're not even close to the same thing.

If polls and/or media were to actually clearly distinguish between what an immigrant and what a refugee is, the number of people against immigration would drop drastically.

Silly poll that completely circumvents every logical argument against the border wall.
1)Cost -biggest argument is its expensive but magically your wall costs nothing to build or maintain.
2)effectiveness- partially due to cost but also terrain, and visas, the effectiveness of the wall is in question. Your wall will circumvent the ENTIRE U.S.A. magically without regards to anything. Oh and noone can circumvent it.

So i vote no because i dont think this would be an effective use of magic. If we are using magic we should just put a spell on the entire land mass of the U.S. and its territories. The spell would magically telelport any illegal immigrant back to thier originating country as soon as they cross the invisible border. Everything else will become unnecessary.

I'm quite confident that the only people going to Mexico besides on vacation are passing through from Central America trying to get to America.

Your confidence is misplaced. I don't even have a big circle and I know people who are living in Mexico indefinitely simply because they enjoy it.

The wall doesn't really bother me, but I prefer we do things like actually enforce our own laws as well as go after the businesses that hire illegals. Kind of sucks we demonize people who are just trying to survive while giving a pass to those who profit off of these people.

What bothered me about the wall is that for as much criticism the left gets about obsessing about identity politics, Trump cranked that to 11 with his campaign. He basically created major diviseveness for the sake of getting votes from the racist mouth breathers who spend entirely too much time on internet message boards who seem to make up a large portion of the right wing voter base these days. He basically made everyone hate each so he can put a slogan on a t-shirt.

Long as we are actively destabilizing countries I'm for open borders. We get what we deserve.

This is a good point. The west brings a lot of its issues on itself.

Sure why not. Let them fix their own country so people actually want to move there instead of always vice versa.

Americans move to different countries all the time. Alot actually retire in other countries lol.

This. I would also add that we have a net negative immigration rate (and have had one for a while) so spending a ton of resources doesn't make sense to me (I agree with the issues zebby points out as being a higher priority). But we should want a secure border to ensure that only the immigrants we want come into the country.

You can't have socialism and open borders.
