This is usually true, about a fight requiring two idiots, but often it only takes a little alcohol going around, and one person looking for trouble. If you're out having a good time and not worrying about fights, sometimes a situation will sneak up on you. Walking away often means leaving friends behind. Not cool.
I'm a proud 0-0 as a grown up, not counting a few drunk scuffles that weren't a big deal.
Yea, but I guess is being jumped for no reason even considered a fight? To me, that would be like calling the knockout game a fight.
I was at some dive sports bar probably 2 or 3 years ago now, playing pool with three other buddies on 1 table. We weren't regulars there, and there was a group of like 10-12 asians playing on 3 tables around us. We were there for awhile, and after about 3 hours were all pretty wasted, but I was sober enough to remember we never said anything to any of them.
Anyways, out of nowhere I just get suckered right in the back of the head, and I just stumbled a step or two ahead. The only thing I could possibly think of was I was in the guys way or something and he got pissed, or they were just looking to start a fight with a smaller group of people, or they were regulars and thought we were taking up their table. There was no reason for it at all.
It was a weird feeling, because I remember being pretty much wasted to feeling instantly sober and ready to fight, but then I turn around and there's like a dozen of them. So I just started asking what the problem was, why did you do that, etc? The guy just kept saying I didn't punch you, I didn't punch you, and there was two guys standing close to him, so I yelled well one of you three did. I wanted to just deck him in the face with the pool cue but it was at least 10-12 on 4, so I yelled at him a bit more and said he hits like a pussy as I walked away. I remember thinking that probably wasn't the smartest thing to say given how outnumbered we were, but then this big as bartender comes over and yelled at them if they don't leave he's calling the police. Gave us our next pitcher on the house.
At the same bar later that year some asian dude killed some guy in the parking lot with a shotgun after an argument. I've always wondered if it was the same group. We never went back there.
