Question for those Left of center and those in the Center.

Won't vote for either party in the upcoming midterms. Will have to (unfortunately) vote for the Dems in 2020 just bc I'm strongly against the Supreme Court being dominated by one party.

the process wasn't honored, upheld, and respected.

then again, when is it ever?

Your interpretation of my words is a window into your mind, not mine.

Not really. It's called seeing how things can be taken more than one way. Just something you kinda have to do when using language to communicate. But you go ahead and try to make that one stick.

Keep defending Lord Phallus with all your might, big fella.

This thread made me think of this photo.

Saw this the other day. It's pretty much exactly how I feel about people like this. My first thought is almost always, "You don't have a job?"

I may as well use this thread to display why I think the following WR posters vote Democrat:

<TrumpWrong1>

My problem is with Trump, he is a con man and the most divisive President of my lifetime and I voted for Bush Sr in my first presidential election.
Trump is a snake oil salesman.
Added 2 trillion to the deficit, gifted a tax break to the rich, spends a shit load on the military. Under his watch we have borrowed the most money since 2008, has not done shit with the crumbling infrastructure, poisoning the environment, and cheats on his wife. Still has not done shit to fix health care.
But hey he gives funny nicknames to people so I guess that makes him an Alpha and talks like the drunk uncle you avoid at family reunions.
The last conservative this country had was Barry Goldwater. Now we have a bunch of career politicians on both sides whose only concern is cashing lobbyists checks.
That was even more apparent at the Kavanaugh hearing. I was thinking fuck Feinstein, Hatch, et al are still Senators. They are all in their late 70's and 80's and still running our country into the fucking ground. Approval rating for Congress usually runs in the low teens in national polls but for some odd reason, the shit heads responsible for those numbers are still getting re-elected.
I guess I am not fond of watching the US government turn into an Oligarchy.
The best bet for everyone is vote out the incumbent. That is why Trump got elected, and the people need to take it one step further but wont happen because indentity politics is all anyone cares about anymore; nobody gives a fuck about policy, just Memes.

Thanks for the write-up on your position.

I don't think the far left represents the base. They are just making the most noise and have power like in Hollywood.

I don't vote unless there is a reason. Until the status quo changes and we have some valid 3rd parties, I'm not interested. It'll be us vs. them with the extremes on both ends with the loudest voices.

We need to get back to the center which I feel is the most reasonable.

I may as well use this thread to display why I think the following WR posters vote Democrat:

Jack V Savage: Has health issues that he never actually talks about. This is why he is the way he is as a poster. He is against anything that is not socialist in nature and practice. My personal opinion is that Jack has vision problems - he might be legally blind.

Not just legally. I'm totally blind. But I have a Braille computer screen (I also have an awesome Braille windshield for my car), and I memorized the keyboard well enough to type anyway. But I'm not a socialist.

Actually, he's not totally wrong. Immigration from poor countries does make up the majority of immigration to the US.

He is wrong, because "pushing for third-world immigration" implies promoting an increase specifically in "third world" immigration. And he was actually just referring to differences in how to handle people who are already here.

I cannot in good conscience vote for either of these shit parties. As a matter of fact I've never voted for a major party candidate for any significant office in my entire life. Maybe a suburban mayor or a coroner or some shit, but that's about it. I used to hate the right more, now I hate the left more. The authoritarian wing has switched, I am guessing that's why my hate shifted. But they still both suck donkey dicks.

We held on to the norms and traditions as long as we feasibly could, but anything that isn't currently enshrined into law concretely will be ignored with the barest of pretenses when the opportunity arises.

The founding fathers and politicians from America's earlier eras established norms and traditions as such because in their time, a person's honor was more likely to keep them in check than the fear of penalty under law. They certainly willing to fight for their honor:

And they were willing to die for it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burr–Hamilton_duel

During that time period losing with honor would have been seen by many as more important than winning by dishonorable means, and it was probably for that reason that the founding fathers didn't think they had to turn all the traditions and norms they established into laws.

Modern politics is on an infinitely more complex scale than it was back then, and for the most part, the voters entrenched on either of the two sides are going to be more angry if the politicians on their team don't try and wins by any means necessary.

The premise of the question is wrong. The Democratic Party hasn't moved further left, and I think Ford is most likely telling the truth (and Kavanaugh lied and misled a lot). The actions of protesters wouldn't affect my vote in the slightest, as protesters aren't running for office. I think that doubling down on making sex crime victims more comfortable reporting crimes is a positive thing (though, again, not really something that relates to electoral politics--more of a social movement).

Anyway, I see elections as being primarily about directing policy, and so no, unless I thought that the GOP had better policy ideas, nothing else would affect my voting behavior. I think the attitude of people like @LogicalInsanity (ITT he expresses hatred for regular Americans who disagree with him and wants to vote to express that hatred even if it means bad policy) just plays into political dysfunction and ensures bad policy and human suffering.

Several points to be made.

I don't "hate" you or @nac386 , @Strychnine, @luckyshot and other left leaning posters on this forum.

And I make a clear distinction between "leftists" and liberals.

Do I hate certain facets of leftism? absolutely.

am I crazy about the Republicans? No. quite the opposite. I actually abhor the GOP as much as I do WPEM.

the new left is dangerous and I will not support candidates/politicians who espouse the same ideologies as Cortez, Maxine Waters etc.

I will either, not vote/support them, or vote 3rd party like I normally do.

Not just legally. I'm totally blind. But I have a Braille computer screen (I also have an awesome Braille windshield for my car), and I memorized the keyboard well enough to type anyway. But I'm not a socialist.

I had to like that one. It was funny. Well done!

With the Democrats going even farther Left, the unfounded rape accusations of Kavanaugh, and doubling down on #MeToo, fighting the patriarchy, LGBTQ+agenda, fighting white privilege. Even actions of Leftist protestors lately. How is this got you thinking about your votes in November? Does all this concern you and will it possibly impact your vote?

Nothing impacts my vote, because I intentionally do not vote.

Voting gives legitimacy to the state and it's system of control. Unplug yourself and live free.

He is wrong, because "pushing for third-world immigration" implies promoting an increase specifically in "third world" immigration. And he was actually just referring to differences in how to handle people who are already here.

Yeah, that's why I said "not totally wrong." The "pushing for" part is wrong. Though you could easily argue that that's the most important part of the statement.

Overall, there's an alarm 3rd world immigrants are coming over but there shouldn't be because that's what the US has always imported.
