Just means you're an absolute loon. Congrats.

This thread is just insane.
Watching conservatives transform over the past few decades into a group who vehemently advocates for theocracy, authoritarianism, and dictatorship has been intriguing to say the least.

Trudeau is the obvious correct answer, because no matter how much you despise him and his policies, you have a legitimate, free, and fair chance to vote him out. Try that with Putin.

These braindead fucks have been so indoctrinated that they’d willingly give up their own freedom and autonomy just to avoid liberal policies. Bizarre.

You realize he quoted me and I'm not even a conservative right. Also the poll asks who would you rather have as a leader, not "who do you vehemently advocate for".

I haven't been able to find one redeeming quality in Trudeau, I've seen at least a few in Putin.

Yes, I realize he quoted you. I was responding to his last sentence, where he said “this thread is just insane.” I was speaking generally about the conservative posters’ attitudes ITT.

It isn't that wild that people would vote for Putin. They haven't experienced him personally. And, if you consider Russia, a mostly white, Christian nation with traditional values in terms of societal norms, people can romanticize that and overlook the glaring flaws/problems.

Trudeau is a petulant little fuck and steps on his own hands (such as the trucker issue), but it's easy to reject him when he stands opposite of you on day to day issues for you forgetting the fact that he's only like 30 degrees off from your own views.

Putin stands against us on issues we never have to legitimately be concerned about -- freedom of the press, religion, speech, discrimination based on sexuality, etc. is like 160 degrees off of westerners view of freedom, but, again, we don't have to experience it and his country looks like our own traditional makeup.

Hard no on Putin from me, soft no on Trudeau, conceding that there is some value in certain instances for authoritarian rule in the service of stability.

One more reason to stop viewing politics as a lateral continuum and more like a venn diagram.

Just 4 or so pages ago Putin was in the lead. In the immediate aftermath of his 2022 invasion of Ukraine, Putin was a real pariah. But propaganda has had time to work its magic since then. Plenty of defective units hopped right back on the bandwagon.

What are you?

"I hate labels...now get out there and vote Trump!"

Putin is literally (not figuratively) a mass murdering psychopath. Trudeau is woke. Hmmm...

Interesting thread to revisit. Now that we've had more time to digest Putin's invasion of Ukraine, I wonder if people still feel the same as they did?

I'm European and we get like 30+ choices of parties in my country and you can't really put a label on every single one of them. The labels are dumb and the American black and white thinking in politics only leads to retarded outcomes.

If you really have a hard of for your labels I could probably classify myself somewhat of a centrist right leaning guy. Which really doesn't define much or tell you anything about my ideas on a specific subject.

Better not let Putin know this.

I think they'd be surprised if they looked at Russia's demographics. These same people tend to be outraged over stories of Muslim immigration to countries like Germany and France; meanwhile, Russia has a FAR higher Islamic population than those countries.

And Russians themselves haven't exactly been historical known as being white. They often were viewed as semi-Asiatic. Many of Tsars placed importance on emphasizing their Mongol ancestors.

Do cities like Moscow and Saint Petersburg have a big islamic population though? Areas like Dagestan and Siberia existing doesn't really mean much if the people don't experience any of that in the more western parts of Russia.

Of course, those are the main cities. People move there for increased employment opportunities etc all the time. Besides for people who are actually permanent residents, they get a ton of migrant workers.

Doesn't seem like it's a very noticeable groups if we are to believe these numbers:

Does he not have eyes or unable to read a public forum?

I'm sure he has eyes and he has the capabilities to read this forum but I'm not sure if he's aware of this forum's existance and the blatant anti-Putinism these mods are showing on here.
