Ruh oh! That'll compliment the racist, sexist, libtard, far right, far left shit I've been called on here nicely. Pretty sure I got bleeding heart liberal a few times as well. I'm set!
I'd say you're a reasonable guy, so maybe you can add that to the list as well.

You realize our discussion is about if average russians life has gotten better under putin or not?Because thats how it started.

But i can answer your question since you asked

Nope dictators should be avoided

I think that you could argue that given the shifts that had happened shortly before he took over that most politicians would have been able to improve the life of the average Russian in those circumstances. I guess the question is has he improved it as much as he should have with the cards he was given?

watched a lot of debate between him and other world leader,
Putin is one smart individual.

He's a ruthless dictator,
But not sure we can say that Russia isn't doing better since he's there.

compare to when he took office and now russia is significantly better at any metric you look at.

gdp went from 260 billion to 1.483 trillion $
gdp per capita: from 1,772 to 10,127 $
unemoloyment rate: from 11% to 6%
average annual salary: from 1000 to 16,600 $

keep in mind that these numbers would be even better if he wasn't enemy no.1 of western neoliberals/neocons

Lets just say i remember russia before putin.Basically brazil with winter.

Hes a criminal who steals everything he can get but my argument about average guys life becoming better is true

brazil? brazil with economy of nicaragua maybe

Would anyone have made the GDP of Russia worse in the circumstances he had though?

I probably wouldn't want Trudeau to have Putin's level of authority. But then again he's also not capable of achieving that level of authority, which makes him a lot less damaging than Putin.

At the end of the day it's easier to deal with an incompetent buffoon than a competent, corrupt tyrant.

He’s been the ruler of Russia for how long now? He’d turn Canada into Russia.

Can't rig elections here (at least not as easily). Can't kill your political opponents. You have government watchdogs, a free press and a host of other things that Russia doesn't have. So the question is would I like to have an intelligent self serving sociopath who is a patriot. Or an absolute buffoon who is not. Tough choice really.

Well yeah but he was drunk the vast majority of the time.

and?

maybe he was drunk all the time cause his country was in a downward spiral and there was no way out...

again objectively speaking if you compare post soviet russia with post putin russia it's night and day.

putin was obviously net positive for that country and its not even close.

now if your only criteria is if hes liked or not by western neoliberal/neocon elites then thats a different story, but it has very little to do with the topic of the thread

Laughing pretty hard envisioning some of the dialogue between a guy like Putin and a guy like Singh. Ooof.

*Sigh*

The EPA was suggested and Executive Ordered by Nixon, a Republican.

Simple adherence with international standards.

The tradition of pensions in the US was started by churches and formalised by Herbet Hoover - a Republican.

Democrats. Fair.

First form of healthcare came under John Adams, a Federalist.

Dems. Fair.

I mean, it's debatable how many of these are definitively beneficial, but that's a deeper topic than you're capable of.
Now, are you 6?

It is not worth wasting your time with @skold. He is just here to troll and he will not take anything you say seriously. He knows his comment about leftist ideology creating all the good in our world is total nonsense.

There is no need to rig the elections in Canada when only a portion of the country usually votes liberal and decides all of Canada's elections. Trudeau didn't even bother trying to appeal to Western Canada during the most recent election.

Putin cannot be all that bad. He recently tried warning the west about the problems with "woke" culture.

Putin Warns Wokeness Is Destroying The West: It Happened In Russia, It’s Evil, It Destroys Values

“The preparedness of the so called social progress believe that the bringing a new conscience, a new consciousness to humanity, something that is more correct,” Putin said. “But there is one thing I would like to say: The recipes they come up with are nothing new. Paradoxical as it may seem, but this is something we saw in Russia. It happened in our country before after the 1917 revolution, the Bolsheviks followed the dogmas of Marx and Engels. And they also declared that they would go into change the traditional lifestyle, the political, the economic lifestyle, as well as the very notion of morality, the basic principles for a healthy society. They were trying to destroy age and century long values, revisiting the relationship between the people, they were encouraging informing on one’s own beloved, and families. It was hailed as the march of progress. And it was very popular across the world and it was supported by many, as we see, it is happening right now.”

Here is a video featuring the reading of important parts of the letter and some commentary.

Are you asking who I think would be a better leader between these two?

Such a tough decision....

What is a conservative going to say that Putin doesn't like? "I identify as a woman" or "Whiteness is complicit in racism" or "Muh Body, Muh Rights!" or "Diversity is Strength" or "Celebrate your abortion"?

Canada doesn't necessarily need Vladimir Putin, but we desperately need someone with thick skin who is going to step in, rule with an iron fist and put an end to the bullshit "Woke" politics and all the rest of this radical leftist nonsense that is destroying the country. Canada is going downhill fast.
Putin kills people who have political dissent

It's disappointing to see that people in the WR, meaning they regularly follow politics, are literally using Russian propaganda photos of a 60 year old doing masculine activities in judging whether he is fit to rule or not.

This is the thought process I would expect to see among tribesman in Papua New Guinea. But then again, I've been a strict critic of public education so I'm not surprised either.

Seriously, name a single positive conservative policy in the last 50 years. Civil rights? Nope. Women's rights? Nope. Conservatives are consistently on the wrong side of history.

This is the future conservatives want
