International Putin once again plays amateur Trump with "impossible meeting"

I don't think it's that kind of world anymore.

We're in the beginning stages of a multipolar order.
The EU and China are both getting stronger voices.

Before the Ukraine war, the EU were pretty deferential to the US. But that is changing.

Christ on a cross...
It's all just pie in the sky diplomacy by the Kremlin, meant to distract the US administration from the reality: Putin is the barrier to peace.

But every time Putin uses these strategies to distract/delay with Trump, it ends up being less and less effective, and for a shorter amount of time.

The majority of the US Congress supports more sanctions against Russia, and more military arms sales to Ukraine (paid for by EU). Trump is facing pressure from them to take action, and no matter how much he likes Putin, and no matter what blackmail Putin has on him, eventually he will be tired of talking about the war. Then he will slowly start to give Ukraine more weapons and put more sanctions on, and Putin's meaningless "Delay Diplomacy" won't be effective anymore.

So, when does that happen? I try to be fair with Trump but he needs to realize the sooner Putin is playing the antagonist in this conflict, the better it will be. Trump was able to begin talks between Israel and Hamas so I will give him props on that and will assume he knows Putin cannot be reasoned with peacefully.

That's difficult to predict, and it depends on what Trump's affinity for Putin is.

If Putin has tapes of Trump pissing on Russian prostitutes, and whatever is in the Epstein files, then Trump might never dare cross him, for fear that Putin would release the blackmail.

HOWEVER, Congress can override Trump. So far they have chosen not to. Still, there is heavy pressure from the US Military Industrial complex to sell more weapons to Ukraine. Raytheon (Tomahawk Missiles) and Lockheed Martin (JASSMs) are putting pressure on Congress to in turn pressure Trump to sell these weapons to Ukraine. Trump succeeded in making sure that the US won't pay for this -- the EU will pay for it (likely with frozen Russian assets). That means this is a huge win-win for the US, and there's no reason not to do it (Putin has proven his red lines are meaningless when crossed).

So, when will we see Trump sell more weapons to Ukraine? I think within 6 months will see Trump take concrete action, but it won't be Trump himself. It will be Congress passing supermajority legislation, so that Trump can say to Putin "it's out of my hands, sorry". So, if we allow a few months for legislation, I think by next summer we will see either JASSMs or Tomahawks sold to Ukraine.

Hopefully by next Spring or even sooner because we're creeping on 3 years since the full-blown invasion. Whatever blackmail Putin has or is aware of, it must be some depraved shit, because I've never seen so much ass kissing done in the 'my dick is bigger than your dick' game that is politics. Whether Trump recognizes what he needs to do or have congress do it so he can say 'sorry bro' he'll(hopefully) see what the rest of the world sees.

Actually believe it or not, it will be 4 years in February 2026 (2022-2026). Time flies.

I still believe it's a combination of "all of the above" with Trump & Putin:

-Putin has blackmail on Trump
-Trump genuinely likes/respects/admires Putin. He's a powerful Czar and Trump wishes he was King of America.
-Putin has given Russian money to Trump via oligarchs in the past (it's estimated that 50% of each Russian oligarch's money is actually Putin's)
-Trump wants more money and "deals" done with Putin in the future (to enrich his family)
-Trump genuinely believes that putting pressure on Putin will 'close the door' to future diplomacy & deals (which it won't)

That's why Trump is kissing his ass so badly, in my opinion.

The last 10 months have been the most embarrassing 10 months of "diplomacy" by a US President in history. If Trump gave a damn about foreign relations and not just stroking his own ego, he would have given the job to Rubio. At least he isn't a complete fucking idiot.

Yup. It's really sad.

And Russia just accomplished exactly what I thought they would do. They got Trump to back down from giving Ukraine Tomahawk missiles, and then immediately abandoned any efforts for a Trump-Puin meeting. They knew there would never be a meeting in the first place -- they just wanted to entice Trump to walk back the idea of giving Ukraine Tomahawk missiles. Putin completely played Trump.
