better fighter overall as in who would have more success as a fighter prime for prime, also counting other things like the style attributes being effective enough for longevity, it would have to be Couture. It's still crazy to me how well his strength adapted to HW even though he wasn't even a huge LHW at that.

Evans was also really good in that respect. He had potential to be great at MW too at one point in time. Still Anderson would have sniped him despite Rashad's empty threats.

Nope. Rashad especially at that time was feeling his stand-up, which was good but flawed and his chin was shaky. It was a very bad idea to put him up against a very accurate counter-striker with more technique and KO power in every single strike. He didn't like that Karate sandwhich from Machida either.

Yeah, good point. Rashad could've* ragdolled him, but he may have tried to strike with him too. Silva didn't have Lyoto's TDD to keep it on the feet, though.

The fact that neither Jones nor Davis could outwrestle Rashad is amazing. He took Rampage down a couple of times what was always difficult

I might agree if Rashad had actually made leaps and bounds as you imply, but that is far from the truth. Those fights were ALL in 2007-2008. Randy would outclass Rashad like he did Tito.
