Prime Anderson Silva would beat Daniel Cormier

No.

DC would have kept him on the ground for the entire fight. Not just 75 percent.

It would be just like Anderson vs Hendo

Anderson might get controlled round one. But then he comes out and TKO's Cormier. I want to see them rematch actually. Anderson lit him up on the feet

You,OP are a fucking genius !!!!!
There a handful of fighters that Silva couldn't beat in his prime.
An Asian handful.

He did land a sweet kick to cormier, but it just didnt have the same devastating effect it had on hendo, plus Cormier is able to take anderson done much easier than hendo did.

Anderson might have done him with a full camp and 5 rounds. Maybe it's time for a little go at 205 . He should win one and campaign for a rematch .

He looked like the same DC to me. He took Anderson down and through a ton of gnp with bad intentions. He tried to pass guard many times as well.

The only problem is that after the round 1 smothering Andersonw as too old and out of shape to take advantage of DC tiring and slowing down.

The best version of DC is better than any fighter Anderson ever faced, and will always be the worst style matchup for him.

Cormier fully trained is just going to have an easier time taking Anderson down.

So Cormier was not fully trained?

He possesses all the abilities that Weidman and Sonnen utilized to give Anderson fits, only he is much larger and more powerful than they are,can take strikes better than them, and trains daily with Cain Velasquez. Anderson landing some crazy unorthodox strike is all he can hope for against the relentless Olympic/AKA pursuit

A couple of things. Both the Weidman fights ended on the feet and under unusual circumstances. AS was also past his prime in those fights as well. Weidman landed some decent gnp but he, like Cormier and Chael, was not able to finish the fight or even really hurt him from that position.

The reason Chael was so successful in the first fight was due to his gas tank. Chael had the gas tank to grind for literally 5 full rounds. Weidman and DC do not. They have 2 rounds in them at best and then they start to slow down and hang around on the feet.

Prime Anderson beats all of those guys in the same way. Weather the early wrestling and gnp and then finish the fight on the feet in the later rounds.

I agree with TS. DC and Andrrson match up oddly. I would def. pick prime Anderson to beat DC.

And yet at 41 yrs old and the worst version of Anderson yet he showed he has all the tools to beat Cormier more times than not.

DC's weight on him might have done that to anderson no matter how old he is. The size gap seemed too much for him.

Anderson's lack of gas, speed, and movement seemed to be his biggest problem...not DC.

yeah you would say that ;)

no matter what happens its never anything his opponent did.

Except maybe everything? He landed one body kick and spent the rest of the fight lying on his back trying to wrap Cormier up as tight as possible.

Cormier went through an emotionally torrid week, a bad weight cut and a last second opponent change and still dominated thoroughly, got a 10-8 round, and was never in any danger.

What Anderson did was nothing short of amazing. He's an inspiration. But he has fans that are fucking nutcases.

It's possible. This Anderson, with about 30 more seconds, might've beaten Cormier. We really don't know how much he was hurt there in those last moments.

According to Cormier's post fight interview with Olivi it seemed that body kick hurt him pretty bad.

I also believe if Cormier fought like he did last night in a 5-round fight with a younger Anderson Silva there'd be a reasonably good chance of him getting KO'd before it was over.
