Yeah I always liked the classic maroon look, I don't know why I never got a set... But man the gold always works well with red or maroon. I love my red white and gold set. Hmmm sounds familiar... Lol

So can bill do any color basically?

From what I understand via emails with Topboxer, they can try to come as close as possible to matching your color using pigments.

I gave him RGB values for a specific color, and he came super close such that I thought it was great! Although he warned me that the analog method of using pigments can never result in a 100% match with an RGB value, it was something I was fine with so long as the final color looked acceptably close.

Bill/Topboxer can do a lot of colors short of Metallic colors, they can do golds and silvers but past that they don't really do.

They can do Fluorescents
Gold/Silver
Patented
General colors as well as darker and lighter versions
Just shoot him an email to ask, he will let you know but for the most part he can do some craaaaaaaaaazy stuff.

They can do real patented leather now? As far as I know, Topboxer told me they have a shiny synthetic, but it's not actual patent. He did say he'd look into the real patent though...

As far as I know, Bill has 3 versions of metallic gold. The latest one is the thickest which can be used for the striking surface of the glove.

Pretty much, the possibilities are amazing.

that is true Destroyer, my all gold gloves, see review at the latest batch of the gold. So far its been holding up pretty damn good!

I thought Bill could do patented but you may want to ask about that, I never looked into it to find out. I always felt patented or shiny surfaces could cut up your sparring partner due to it being sticky with sweat and it doesn't glide it makes a squeeking sound. I hardly ever see it in pro fights. There are times when I have seen it but its not common.

Yeah at first he turned me down but then he emailed me like an hour later asking if i was still interested in them i said hell yes of course and then the rest is history. Its a little darker than the regular gold foil he uses for accenting purposes.

Strato, I think you're one of the few ppl who are qualified to do a Bill vs R2C comparative review

Definitely, many people are VERY curious! Materials, protection, craftsmanship - a comparison would be great, even a brief one.

I have a feeling it would make more sense to go about pm'ing that kind of comparison to those interested in comparing/contrasting certain elements of both gloves. Doesn't seem right to go head to head with gloves that aren't trying to be the same thing to begin with. I can understand zepol vs boxeo in terms of both trying to be budget mexican style gloves vying for 2nd place behind Reyes, but Bill and R2C aren't even trying to compete with the same value proposition. However, if Strato wants to do it, I'll happily read.

Yes and no. You can always compare leather, stitching, lining, wrist support. Comparing the protection and landing in IMF vs. layered c-17 would be weird though.
Yet, both gloves are made in the same country and retail in the same price range 150 vs. 130. So I cannot see why wouldn't Strato compare them fairly.

Ok well, I still don't have my R2C customs in. But having 2 sets of R2C gloves are as follows:

I feel Bills/Topboxers IMF is the best Ive personally ever dealt with period I have different densities in all my gloves, I feel the soft IMF is probably the route everyone should go regardless of what you normally like. The soft IMF makes recoil obsolete--that is what usually happens with IMF. It doesn't really feel like IMF either, IMF usually feels BIG, BULKY, and lacks feedback. The soft type from Bill/TB is the best Ive messed around with. Everyone knows my Red/white/golds are my FAVORITE and #1 sparring glove of all time, even ahead of my Reyes. I mean the only IMF that contends with this is the Pro-fight Ringside which blew me away too in all honesty

I know Reyes aren't that protective, but what Im saying is Bills gloves overall are probably what everyone is seeking.

Very protective maybe not on Winning grounds but still even if you rate them #2 they are still up there.

The leather imo is 2nd to Reyes, this is my opinion, and it holds Up awesomely. I mean I have all gold gloves and they take a beating like none other.

3 I feel the customization for Bills gloves are 2nd to none, I mean I guess you could throw grant in there but why? pay 500-750 for gloves? that's retarded. Bill charges a FRACTION of the price.

4. The Price, $150 + shipping (depends where you live)are you kidding me? They are RIDICULOUSLY good for the price, and its a CUSTOM job. If you aren't happy with the glove its because YOU messed up. The level of customization on bills gloves are considered EPIC. You can do a lot more than pick simple colors is what most people do. I do not however.

Craftsmanship wise, Bill/Topboxer are up there with the big boys. Considering they aren't GIANTS in the business P4P they are top 3 in terms of this. You've seen my reviews, you've seen the pics, You roughly know how many rounds Ive sank in those gloves.

Let me go on to explain why Beaulieu Customs are near the top of the pile.
You can measure your hand and give it to Bill so it fits YOUR hand perfect, it isn't a mass made shell, this is YOUR hand. Or you can make it slightly bigger or waaaaaay bigger

The foam densities for IMF as well as foam type IMF vs Layered, Hardly any company allows you to do this.

Cuff type: Flat, triple, Velcro, extra padded Velcro

Palm type: Regular, extra, or change it to how YOU want it.

I don't know when it comes to customizations I don't think ANY glove can compare to Beaulieu, Topboxer knows what he's doing folks.

I don't like to rate smaller companies side by side, I like Mohsin a lot, I like Bill and Muhammad a lot, I like Juan a lot.

But I gave you my numbers you should be able to deduct from that info.

I will say this, Beaulieu is my Favorite sparring glove of all time, I like them for bag work too. You guys have seen I have 2 pairs of gloves, facesaver, boots, shorts, you name it I have it.

I think its hard for any company at this point to compete with Beaulieu if these guys ever hit it big I hope they look back and remember me when they start charging higher prices lol.
Im gonna close you cant go wrong with Beaulieu Customs. send a PM if you have any questions.

I would but the Grants are going to be out the door before 16oz Beaulieus get here unfortunately.

Also, Mino...

Assuming that your Grants are sold before the Bills come in, would it be possible to compare the Bill gloves based on your "memory" of the Grant quality and construction?

I think it would be a beneficial review because it would provide much needed information to those who seek Bill as an alternative to Grant as far as customization and quality, or to those believe that "made in Mexico" is always, always better than "made in Pakistan," and lastly to those who think that Grant is just a better glove because it is more expensive, endorsed by Mayweather etc... or both

Also, Strato^ If your opinions change when the R2C customs arrive, make sure you let us know. That post of yours speaks very, very loudly!

Strat can do a MiM vs Bill comparison, doesn't have to be nasty, just tasteful and objective. The R2C MiM gloves have always impressed me and look like they perform above their respective price range.

btw, BOOM!!!!

Nice, i thought invicto was a pro fight glove...weird to see the 12 oz.

@shihtzu Yes that more or less makes sense when you put it that way.

@Stratagain Nice breakdown of the bealieus...I'll definitely have to try them sometime in the future...that whole measure your hand thing really entices me because of how weird my hands/wrist combination is to fit. As much as I like my winning pairs, the fit still isn't perfect (although much better than anything else I've tried)
