Sorry that I am not him but Gil is Zepol. Casanova have changed the name Gil into Zepol.

So I guess its quality is just same as Gil
GIL and Casanova actually have nothing to do with each other, except for the fact that Julie Moreno is the official US distributor for both brands. So she sales them through the same website and same eBay / Amazon accounts. GIL is exactly the same as the most recent version of the Zepols. The guy who made Zepol passed away and the company went to his son-in-law, at which point the name was changed to Profesional GIL.

How much use have you put on those Campeon? They look a little more on the vintage side. I was going to say most of them looked unused but I can’t blame you if you have over 25 pairs hehe.

Also I see you prefer the protective style of gear Winning/Fly but which is your favorite out of all the Mexican gloves?

(Side Note: I too wouldn’t consider Di Nardo’s even if they were made by Unicorn leather.)
I know this is kind of a boring answer, but I have to say I like Reyes the best of the Mexican brands. GIL would be #2. I love Mexican brands but quite a few of them have an uncomfortable thumb, at least for me. For example, I love Boxeo for the most part except the thumb feels really strange until broken in substantially...almost like your thumb is pointing out sideways.

What are the Campeon gloves like? I put in an order for some after reading they're like Casanova but with softer padding.

I think Golomb gloves are latex plus horsehair

Does that mean you've now got a pair and if so, once you destroy them, will you be taking up John Golomb on that 5 year guarantee?
Lol. I do have a pair; had them for about two years now. The warranty no longer extends to five years—it's only for two years now. And I haven't taken advantage of it, though I did send the gloves back for an adjustment, which John paid for (in terms of shipping). I've used them lightly on the bag on a few occasions, but I only use them for sparring.

Haha, OK. Didn't @makedansure do a review of them? I don't remember.

In any case, I'll post pictures later. Can't really review them because I haven't used them enough between not sparring a lot in the last two years (new child, work, and another on the way) and I was initially paranoid about soiling my new expensive gloves. Slightly less reticent to use them now, but still they were expensive. (I have to say that I probably saved money buying them because it staved off my desire for new gear.)

Nope, he's not reviewed them and I don't think he's posted pics either.

25 extra for shipping but I had already paid 80 shipping with the TM gloves. Campeon said shipping to England would be 80USD which seems the standard. So it was slightly cheaper for me to go through Juan but wouldn't have been if I didn't already have a TM order, although with Juan I suppose I get the advantage of dealing with someone I know a bit better and in good English.

Okay I see, basically the same way I thought when I made the New Sporting purchase, with the cost of shipping I figured 2 pairs made more sense.

The TM gloves are made by NS right? So you will also be able to compare them, that’s even more exciting.

In the past Juan used the NS people as his supplier but actually he has said that he no longer uses them, so I don't know who is making the gloves.

Ooh ok. Wouldn’t surprise me he had issues with them or something.

Btw I was showing my wife Top Boxer’s stock on ebay yesterday to show her the Wonder Women model’s and found these, what do you think of those?

I think the new supplier is the same that make Adams boxing gloves, they look very similar. just very very small differences

Yeah Gil is on my to try list. I was aiming for some casanovas but I prefer to buy Reyes anyways, I know what Casanova offers compared to Reyes so Gil would make more sense.

Yeah, Juan said he had issues with NS and that they "stole" his customers somehow.

I've not seen a pair of those ones on eBay in person yet so I don't know. I will receive the stock 16oz ones in a month or two though just for my own use, along with some custom 12oz velcro ones. Maryna Moroz the UFC fighter has some custom 10oz lace-up ones she seems to use for light sparring (just going off her instagram photos). Muhammad thinks that the padding is very very soft, and that they'd be extra safe for sparring, and too soft for bagwork. The padding is apparently like how Shevlins were towards the end of that brand's life, but denser, so it's with some kind of fiber filling that's an animal-hair substitute, because animal hair is very expensive. So I am expecting that they will probably feel quite unique compared to what else is on offer (as how many training gloves get sold today which use anything like animal hair in them? those Golomb ones and DiNardo ones are the only thing that comes to my mind) but they subsequently won't be to everyone's liking. This reminds me that although it says on the listing (e.g I wrote) the pattern is based on Flores gloves, I think that is maybe incorrect and will be changed, and the "Rocky Marciano" part of the name will probably get dropped.

Also with those Wonder Woman gloves, the images that are on the eBay listing show a metallic red, but the images need to get updated. It's now just a regular coloured red instead of metallic red because the metallic red would tarnish too fast. If you look on youtube, someone called Sarah Gemini has a review of them up which shows the gloves with the regular red they now have (although they can still be made with metallic red if requested without paying extra but it's no longer the standard)

I think the new supplier is the same that make Adams boxing gloves, they look very similar. just very very small differences

Are you saying that based on the photo gallery that I posted earlier, or some others photos that you've seen?
