I play video games past the age of 30

Yes. I play in the evenings after my kids are in bed, primarily on my PS4. Mostly fps and action rpg type games (big fan of the Soulsborne games). On my PC I’ll still play rts like Starcraft or Dawn of War, and isometric rpgs like Diablo and it’s various clones (Titan Quest, Torchlight, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile etc).

I’ve been gaming to varying degrees since I was like 3 or 4 years old when we only had an Atari. Then we got an NES when I was five. My parents wouldn’t let us get a SNES or Genesis or N64 or PlayStation so from 1993 to 2009 I was exclusively a PC gamer till my wife bought me a 360 for Christmas in 2009. After that I bought myself a PS3 in 2011 and a PS4 in 2015. I’ve only recently been getting back into PC gaming by putting Steam on my “work computer” (work doesn’t own it, I bought it, but it’s meant for work) but it doesn’t even have a gpu so I can’t really play anything other than older games or rts on it. No modern AAA games on that machine for me.

Yep, I'm just a lot more selective in what I play

Too addicting and I have no self-control so I quit cold turkey.

Not the most productive use of my time.

I’d rather be obsessed with something more fulfilling like hiking or cycling.

Not much these days, but if I can have a long string of play time I can still get into them. The thing that puts me off of most games are long, hand-holding, intro levels (main reason I couldn't get into Kingdom Come)...throw me into the fire or at least make them non-tedious.

...that said, I could play simulation games all day long (Total War, Cities: Skylines, etc.).

agree completely, hate suffering through a 2hr tutorial on rails

and i still play medieval 2 lol

Haha yeah I didn’t see that you posted that until after I posted my comment. True though. I still have an Atari 2600, and games for it. I don’t have it hooked up, it’s just chilling on top of a closet shelf.

I used to love the Atari 7800. They had some great games like Dark Chambers.

Damn I’ve never played the 7800 before. Sounds futuristic!

Yea but for the social aspect for the most part. It's an easy way for out of state friends to reconnect. I don't play very many single player games or MMO's anymore though, I just don't have the time to sit for 6+ hours a day gaming like I used to.

Well there it is. Do you still play if your past the age of 30? Will you always play? Do you remember Duckhunt? *Raisehand*
Yep. I have an Nvidia Shield Android box with every NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, and N64 game on it. Also have PS1, Dreamcast and GameCube emulators with select games for them (take up too much space to have all of em for each system).

I still got my actual Dreamcast. Can't beat Crazy Taxi, Tennis 2k2, and Pro skater 2.
OK I admit I don't play them anymore. Why the fuck do I still have this thing plugged in, I play my Atari 2600 (flashback) more than Dreamcast.

Yep. No energy to do much else after work some days, so its lounge time. On the weekends I have plenty of time for other hobbies.

I'll play a little bit of Call of Duty every now and again, definitely don't get into it like I did when I was younger.

Anyone remember Star Control 2 on 3DO. That was the shit. Good times.

I have mine too with like 55 CD-R copies of backup games. It doesn't have piracy protection.

I do but really on just a time killing basis, and never more than an hour or do at a time. The last game I even bought was MK 11 when it first came out.

I will ocassionally play a video game on my phone or once in a blue moon turn on my PS3. Other then that it's been a long time that I've played any video game at a serious or addictive level, although I have to admit my wife and I was playing Pokemon Go often when it was popular.

Kicked the habbit about 4 years ago now. Used to play CS pretty competitively.

It hurts because I miss it everyday but I think it's for the best when it comes to life in general.

This is basically the only game I've played the last 20 years, and still do. From 1.4 on.
Had a few breaks here and there where I wouldn't play for like a year or a bit more. But I always had Steam installed on my PC/laptop with CS and DoD installed. The past 2-3 weeks been playing a few hours a week again.
I can see myself in 5 years from now still occasionally playing it. Might even build a new PC this year and try out CS:GO. DoD (not DoD: Source) is almost dead now unfortunately, but CS 1.6 still has thousands of servers up, I can't believe it sometimes how this game has held on for so long.

bro im being paid my full salary to sit at home and I play games anyway right now its ml11 with sheeva asboljtly smashing. Oops online
