Poor people problems vs rich people problems

Yeah but are you rich?

Rich people have a target on their backs for lawsuits and also family and friends resent you while at the same time begging for money.

I'd guess you're in the sweet spot where you have solved some of the problems of being poor, but you have not gained the new problems yet that come with being rich.
There are ways to insulate yourself with money, but knowledge is something anyone can gain. I had to evict a lady recently, she was poor and an absolute rotten person, i had no issues with my decision, since she accused me of wealth, racism, and all the other isms…. She was white lady <lol> . The issues I’m facing with her trying to defame me is less than having a sheriff forcibly removed you and your children from the home. <Fedor23>

Poor people problems:

1. No money
2. Romantic relationship issues
3. Family relationship issues
4. Friend relationship issues
5. Work-related stress
6. Insecurities about your looks
7. Physical health issues
8. Mental health issues

Rich people problems:
1. People trying to use you or scam you or sue you constantly.
2. Romantic relationship issues, that can be made worse with money
3. Family relationship issues, that can be made worse with money
4. Friend relationship issues, that can be made worse with money
5. Lack of purpose
6. Insecurities about your looks, but now you make them worse with surgeries
7. Physical health issues
8. Mental health issues, that can be made worse with money, because you thought you'd be happy once you got rich and you're not, so life becomes very depressing.

Of course I still wish I were rich, but it's crazy how people think they're lives will suddenly be perfect.
life is life, Bruce Springsteen once said plainly that there is no such thing as a trouble free life.

And the money/greed, I'm watching one of my musical favorites enduring accusations of rape at 85 and the women want 50 million. Smokey Robinson, and somehow some people are so gullible and so brainwashed by the "believe all women" bull that some people actually automatically believe it without any proof whatsoever. Money ruins so many things.

rich people certainly do some silly, foolish shit. I don't understand why they'd hire desperate, poor people and let them up into their houses, at least with my musical heroes, those people almost always turn on them at some point when the money train stops.

Empathy, a real good sob story, inexperience, everyone deserves a chance…. Of course the bad folks ruin it for others, what you may not realize is that in California, eviction cases do not evict tenants. Now this may sound unintuitive because I have a sheriff order, however, I went through 30 cases, and there was no eviction. The judge opted to make stipulations instead.

It’s essentially bargaining, the landlord can have their sheriff order, the tenant needs to leave and pay, and if they follow that procedure, the court case is sealed. It won’t show up on a credit check.

I learned a long time ago that life is too unpredictable for anything. I don't buy on credit anymore, I don't commit any further than I have to to anyone or anything.

I also do my best to keep new people out of my life because I am a nice person and people abuse it. It's only now that I'm learning how to just shut people out or maybe to test people or to make demands on them so they can do some work if they want me around.

However, I wasn't just talking about tenant situations, I was overall talking about how if someone has something, the desperate, the unethical, the needy will get around and sniff for weakness any way they can.

Now, Smokey is just the latest multi millionaire to have to get dragged into court bullshit because he didn't want to wash his own dishes and perhaps decided, perhaps, to screw the help. You cannot have that kind of money without someone trying to get it.

I feel like most “rich person issues” can be avoided by downplaying how much money you have.

The first thing I did after my business took off and I could catch my breath was sell my 100k luxury truck and start being seen around in my 02 f250 (it’s nice tho). My father told me this, how you portray yourself is how you will get treated. If you don’t want to be treated any different, act normal and humble. I’m sure most of the people in my life know I am doing well but I’ll never admit it. Image goes a long way, my father was right about that.

Just look at how much effort billionaires spend on looking jacked. All the money in the world and they are still captive of what people think of them.

Absolutely.

Best to keep your finances a secret, even among those semi-close to you, and don’t flaunt. Even if you’re only well off instead of outright rich or anything.

I think it depends on the person. If I were a billionaire, and accomplished so much in whatever field I work in to make money, why not then try and see what I can do to make my body the best it can be? You’re a bigger chap. It feels good to look good, right? Or feels good to see what your body is actually capable of.

I definitely can see your point too though. Just think it depends on the person and what their priorities are at that moment in their life.

Money solves some problems, and creates a few.
Being poor avoids a few problems and creates many.

Im Middle class and happy about it. Shame the Middle class is dying.

I don’t know how to score this system but I’ll give it a go..

Adding up the pro’s v con’s on the list.

Poor: 3, 4, 5, 7 = 19

Rich: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 = 17

Shit, I’m Poor!

Can't argue with science

There was a Twilight Zone episode about a gangster in the afterlife.
He had the same day-to-day life but would win every gamble.
In the end, he realized that he was not in Heaven but in Hell.

In the present, I detest my struggles, but in hindsight, I am grateful for them.

What are you defining as poor and rich here?

I got like 30% rich people problems and 70% poor people problems.

Poor people problems:

1. No money

Of course I still wish I were rich, but it's crazy how people think they're lives will suddenly be perfect.

I've been at both ends of the spectrum, relatively speaking

truly the key to happiness and/or wellbeing is learning to not give a fuck, certainly not about (6). and just FYI, from your 2nd list:

(1) being sued is far from universal and neither I nor the wealthy people i know have been plagued by lawsuits. possibly thats worse in the US. i'm not plagued with wannabe grifters either, but then:

learning to do without, or mostly take on your own terms, (2), and (4), is a major help and mental health benefit

(3) a relatively small drama-free family unit is also a big mental health benefit

as for (5), not sure. Just indulging yourself in doing whatever the fuck you want can go a loooong way towards happiness, or at the very least filling the time so its passing pleasantly. shit, you're rich, you like sport, you could travel the USA throughout the entire year just doing that. what a fucking life.

(8) nah. i was happy enough when poor, other than having to manage the side-effects of poverty, so I never saw being other-than-poor as any more than alleviating the negative aspects of poverty and getting security. if you take security as the goal, and get it, you feel like you have achieved fulfillment. (8) certainly applies to some people but not to plenty others. the richest people i know are fulfilled by providing security for their children, the superficial shit is meaningless to many of them. richest dude i have ever met has given away all his wealth to his kids already, he literally doesn't GAF

the major things i have seen screwing up rich people are:

(a) divorce(s). Oh, brother.
(b) kids being failures/ addicts/problem children/ marrying the wrong person. but of course this shit is a problem to anyone rich or poor
(c) in quite a few people, cocaine

but i strongly believe that just the security of not-being-poor is a major factor in the 'happiness' of anyone rich who grew up not-rich.

Personally, rich people problems are preferable to poor people problems.

Of course I'd take a rich person problems over a poor person.

You are not fighting for basic needs as a rich person.

Lotsa poor people on this site it seems. Gross.

One thing about being rich is the price tag of envy. Everyone thinks you’re evil, or it was handed to you. Or if you’re a genuinely nice person then you’re looking to make connections or it’s just we’re being fake. Rich is definitely better than poor, i was poor on a native reserve growing up, it’s pure wild style out there.
