Can't believe the amount of people who saw Adesanya of all people easily take down and control Pereira and then subsequently favor him against a guy like Ankalaev lol.

Easy fight for Ank. Ground and pound finish or dominant decision.

If Pereira can pull it off, that would be crazy. But we all know he was rushed to the title fights while Ank had to take the longer route.

People like to point at how Ank only had a draw once he got his TS, but forget that Pereira's fight with Jan also could have been a draw, realistically.

I took the boring, safe pick in Ank but man would I laugh my ass off if Pereira just stomped him.

I actually have a feeling this fight will go much longer than people think, not an early finish, I'll say Pereira by TKO round 5 , I have a feeling it will go into later rounds and be a lot of chess early

Slightly leaning Pereira because I think Ankalaev may make the mistake of trying to stand with him for too long. But I can see it going the other way as well. While we don’t see Ankalaev use his grappling a lot, he has it and I think he could pose some problems if he decides to implement it. But like I said, unsure if he will when he should.

Ankalaev is primarily a striker. He'd be wise to wrestle just to keep Alex off balance, but he isn't a world class submission guy and I don't see him holding Poatan down for 3/5 rounds.

Alex has fairly solid counter wrestling at this point and each round starts standing etc. IMO I think we get some thrilling exchanges and both guys have big moments.

Ankalaev let Jan beat up his legs and win the first 3 rounds, that's pretty low fight IQ, not to mention the Walker incident

Ank has power, athleticism, some wrestling, and pretty high-level striking technique too. But if you can't deal with Jan kicking your legs, you really can't deal with Pereira kicking your legs. And Pereira is pretty diligent about training so I think his TDD will be much improved

I think he will, and later Alex will be expecting it then Ankalaev will get the KO win. Possibly a left high kick involved.

I know he doesnot have Islam or Khabib's submission arsenal nor their trips and other takedowns BUT remember Islam went up against Bjj world champs like Ramos and most submission in UFC history like Charles Ankalaev on the other hand is going against a dogshit 1 stripe white belt grappler like Alex. He doesnot need all those accolades to make it look easy on the ground
