Poatan is not big enough for 205.

He is one of those guys that pulls a sub out of nowhere. I'm a fan.

Same here. Ever since the get-go those were kind of my favourite fights, where a guy seems like he's dead meat and getting the crap beaten out've him but then can pull off a submission. So satisfying.

It can be both realistically. 20 lbs is the largest weight gap between any weight class in mma. 20 lbs is a lot when you're talking professional athletes.
Excellent point, Rich Franklin and Lyota Machida are fighters that would have went to even greater glories if there was a 195 division. I have always felt that it made since to have a 175, 185, 195, 210, 225 divisions or by five kilos increment, but that probably stems from my wrestling background.
Most guys who are saying he's too small never knew of him before the UFC and that he was sparking guys out at 205 in GLORY. He can win against anyone in the division standing, but the wrestling like you said is the most up in the air thing.
I sadly agree. I think more of the just bleed fans of mma-the kind that get frustrated in a heavy grappling match-would probably like kickboxing if they gave it a chance. If they can get over the bigger gloves and slightly longer knockout sequence.

Here is a taste if anyone wants to try it.

Potan is tall and lean but he does not have a massive frame and he is not thick. He has skinny legs.

He will be out muscled by guys at 205.
Bruh, stupid argument. Have you SEEN Jon Jones chicken legs?

isn't it LHW to HW? i get that you don't have to be 265lbs to be a HW but now a days what HW isn't 265lbs. even the great Jon Jones didn't want to go up as his LHW self and was nearly 250lbs.

I don't know why more MMA fans don't try it cause most of them are only there for the stand up anyway. Like I got into watching KB around 10 years ago when I was getting bored with MMA and really enjoyed it. It's just too bad the cards aren't as frequent as they used to be. Them peak GLORY years was some good shit.

Japanese kickboxing is still going strong and ONE is kinda taking over a lot of 70kg talent.

P4P number 1 vs 2 happened recently on ONE

Right on. Some early MMA cards would have some KB matches on the same event.

I would not object.

Did he not kickboxing at heavyweight? If not then at least 200 something.

6'5
80in reach
230 pounds of pure muscle.

Shut the fuck up.

Perfection.

??? Skinny legs is a very big advantage. If I want to weigh a lot for my weight class (like 225-230 for weighing in at 205) I want explosive power and speed from my lower body, not tons of tissue to slow me down and have huge oxygen demand. Legs become an albatross when you aren't sprinting or have to fight for 25 minutes.
You're so fucking blind holy shit

If you see him next time most lhw he still looks big. You are comparing a 185 alex. He would have also dieted as well as cut water. He dwarfs glover etc

He will be an ok 205er size wise. His chin and age are a much bigger concern, though. I think he will have a rough time at 205, winning a fight or two but losing more.

LHW to HW is 65 lbs, you’re wrong

Yes,what happens when he tries to power through being rocked, which got him knocked out against Izzy...against a LHW?

Or gets taken down and GNP'd by a much bigger guy than hes used to facing

He looks to be big enough,but.... thats probably the least of the concerns...
