Media Poatan comes out against Wall and Stall

If you're both standing up and one guy is backing up while the other guy tries to engage, that's basically the same thing.

Timidity was actually a foul in the unified mma rules last time I looked, but I've never seen anyone penalized for it.

I'd be fine with taking a point for wall and stall, but then you gotta take a point when guys do a Condit/Jon Jones and turn their back and run away as well.

If you’re not strong enough or have enough technique to neutralize a wall and stall strategy then that’s on you buddy. Go back to fighting in a boxing ring lol

This is the first, and hopefully the only, time that Alex speaks without confidence. Control the next fight.

You need to lad more than 11 head strikes over 25minutes to even argue your opponent did nothing.

I thought the fight was close at the end, but Alex has no one to blame but himself in this one. The guy literally threw a handful of punches in 25 minutes.

If a police officer can hold a dangerous, violent suspect against the ground or wall and that dangerous, violent suspect can't get themselves into a better position to be dangerous and violent, who's at fault? Who's won the battle? Fighting, warfare, conflict, UFC, whatever you call it, isn't just about beating the other dude to a pulp, it's about who can implement a strategy to nullify the opposition into being helpless, surrendering and giving up and accepting that they have no way to achieve victory, knowing their wives may be raped, their villages pillaged and whatever else may come with a loss.

How about strategizing better to implement your game and not cry and ask for rule changes because you got exposed? And maybe don't be a cuck for Nina Drama while you have Ank wavin da Llama, Chama Bless

Sandhagen, keeping it general, says something similar

Difference is Merab held Aldo against the cage for 3 rounds with almost zero offense to show for it.

Ank did it for 1 round in a 5 round fight that he was winning.

I'm a Pereira fan, but it's not fair to say Ank was just walling & stalling to a victory. He was touching Poatan up & outstriking him.
True, but late in the fight it appeared he knew he was ahead and was clinching a ton to just coast to a victory, which is something I don't really enjoy seeing.

I think sometimes it's an issue with developing really good cage TDD is the fighter gets so hyper focused on not getting taken down they won't take a risk to get out of the position. Aldo is by far the biggest victim of this. Yes you can't take him down against the cage but you could probably hold him there for a good few hours if there were no rounds.

I sometimes think they'd be better off getting taken down and working an under hook or something and getting up in a better position.

I don't disagree.

MMA is a form of entertainment after all.

Nobody wants to see entire rounds wasted by just two guys hugging on a fence.

You can't get rid of it, but the referees should be in there to separate within 20 seconds if no progress or further takedown attempts are being made.

It will make the fights far more entertaining.

I didn't see rounds 4 and 5 but the majority had Alex winning round 5.

I had Poatan winning 2-1 going into the 4th.
Why would you even type this? Didn’t even see the fight but comment on it? Wtf?

Why is he saying this stuff if the rematch is already setup, its now going to be so hard to argue that Dana was not responsible for his record breaking rise. The Jan match was a draw and that is being a little generous plus it also proves how much harder it is to be a good striker when the threat of the take down is high. How do these guys at his level not have a brand manager or pr guy for this shit. I also read he had a broken hand and diarrhea, is any of that true?

Yeah and leg kicks should not be considered significant strikes if they don't cause a limp/sweep the opponent.

See how easy it is to say retarded stuff about the existing rules.
