Media Poatan comes out against Wall and Stall

Ankalaev will knock Pereira out cold next fight. That shaman crap doesn't work on Muslims who believe in one God.

He is totally right.

But he totally new how much judges and commentators love control time, despite it being near meaningless according to the scoring criteria.

Ankaleav is just the flavour of the month, his newfag fanboys will follow the belt when it gets wrapped around Alex’s waist again. I’ve never went against Alex he’s taking the belt back.

Yeah a 21-1 fighter decisioned him in a very close fight and ruined him

What a dumb comment

If anything Alex showed growth in grappling
Alex showed to be a sore loser. He is not dealing well with this loss.

I'm a Shookologist from Sherdog University.. I tell you... Alex is done.

I don't even agree with his assessment of the fight, in the first place. But, regardless (make that "irregardless"), that's not ever going to work. Some fighters use their skills to speed the fight up, and some use their skills to slow the fight down. That's how it will always be.

I've read Poatan comes out against wall street.

correct. therefore, everything that happened OUTSIDE of that is what wins rounds and fights. outside of the lulls in the action for 2 minutes in each of the last 2 rounds, alex got backed up, battered with punches and alex landed 11 total strikes to the head across 25 minutes. if he wanted to win the fight, he should have let his strikes go.
I just feel Ankalaev didn't do enough to win the fight, and I don't think you should be winning championships like that.

But I do agree with you that ultimately [Pereira] did himself no favors by being so tentative. If Alex had more definitively won round 5 with strikes and damage, for example, he would have had a much stronger claim. It's not a robbery by any means, that's for sure.

I'm hoping that Pereira has gained confidence by defending all of Ankalaev's takedowns. Maybe in the rematch he will let his strikes go more. Or maybe age has caught up with him and he's done. Father time is a bitch. When he gets you, it's over.

it's like my dude forgot that he almost got knocked out in rd 2, and Ankalaev was initiating all the exchanges and pressing forward.
Yeah, for some reason I don't think in a rematch Pereira is just going to walk forward and KO Ankalaev. As cool as it would be. It seemed more like he had no way to even start boxing him.

The referees should break it up faster if nothing happens. Wall and stall is about as fun to watch as a guy hugging their opponent the whole fight in a boxing match.

Wasn't that many years ago in the UFC that refs did break it up quite quickly when someone was wall and stalling like big Ank, but at some point there was shift in rules that means refs hardly ever break it up now in wall and stall type scenarios.

Ankalaev broke him. Alex was even more inactive...
I think k Ank won but broke him? .............. in a fight that literally could have been scored either way? I think tou need to check your definition of being broken man.

Every round from 1 to 3 looked close and could have Alex winning but the 4 and 5 ended up being 12 take down defenses and walk and stall... But the fact Alex did nothing the entire time and was so passive is the real problem

Lol he literally got rocked in one of those rounds. He was losing the striking. Literally didn't land any meaningful punch

The unified rules were changed to favor damage as the #1 criteria like 7 years ago.

Dillashaw vs. Sandhagen was the result of judges not properly apply the rules.

Also, the two judges who gave Dillashaw the fight are among the worst in MMA and consistently get decisions wrong.

Oh 100%. They just totally ignored the rules and awarded the fight based on control despite Corey out damaging TJ entirely.

MMA judges are terrible, they ignore the rules mostly because they never understand them in the first place. I think most of them are boxing judges and don't actually understand the sport and will reward things based on superficial assumptions of who looks more in control.

WnS is like cancer that spreads because it is actually an effective strategy and there is no incentive for fighters not to use this terrible, horrible thing.

How do you explain that the guy cries about 5 minutes of cage controller, in MMA ? Totally broken. <mma4>

True, but late in the fight it appeared he knew he was ahead and was clinching a ton to just coast to a victory, which is something I don't really enjoy seeing.
I'm not saying it was an exciting fight by any means, but Ank did win the fight by outstriking him & by complete control.
