This is an argument as old as time.

Randy Couture won tons of championship fights this way. I've always thought is was lame. Pride FC show runners did too. Wall n stall and lay n pray would get you a yellow card. No one wants to see that shit.

Its not fighting. It's actively not fighting. Basically a defensive move like clinching in boxing when rocked

Aldo vs Bautista showed the rules need to be changed asap. As it stands, UFC rules are just an advertisement for grappling/wrestling

Us old guys came across this decades ago with Randy Couture and the like. It was boring then and boring now.

The easiest way to fix it is get rid of the Cage. Ropes don't allow that type of stalling. Ropes keep the action moving
