Pit bull attacked my dog

Overbreeding and too many shelters trying to save every last dog. I love my dogs to death and would harm anyone that tried to hurt them, but even I admit the herd should be thinned. I'm an enthusiast, not a zealot.

same thing could be said about humans in the end

While I'm fully aware that a wolf would easily fuck my shit up if I was unarmed, like most animals they are cans against someone with a spear. They have to come in at you, so as long as you keep the point between you and it, and thrust (not slash) it can't get you without impaling itself. They usually aren't master strategists either, and attack in straight lines

A pack of wolves could get a lone spearman but humans traveled in packs also

lol. wolves and other pack hunters set up ambushes.

they will not only come at you front on.

you can not have a spear to defend yourself 360 degrees at all times with one spear. you would be able to throw your spear at one who would most likely be acting a decoy in front of you, while 5 other wolves are prowling around flanking you and coming in from the rear.

glad your dog is ok.

there is a skinny white guy with dreads (white people should never have dreads, i know its not part of the story but just have to say it) with a pitbull in my building, last time i was walking by with my little pug his dog was growling at her, he said his pit is harmless. Lol ya right... next day my girl tried to get in the elevator hes in there with his dog baring teeth and he tells her to take the next elevator. When I see him I'm gonna tell him im gonna beat his ass if he doesnt put a muzzle on his dog.

If you can't handle your dog then you shouldnt have it. Doesnt matter the breed

My guys don't even bark when someone comes to the door. And when someone does come in even that they don't know they roll over and are like "rub my belly!"

Worst guard dogs ever, but that's not what I have them for.

My neighbour's dog was like this, not sure what breed he was but he was probably the friendliest dog I've met. He only ever barked when he was lonely and wanted to play.

They actually got robbed once and the thief came in from the backyard, broke into the house, found the car keys and exited from the front door and stole their car. All while the dog was inside and he didn't do anything lol.

Glad you and your husky are good TS

My opinions on pits: http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f48/pitbulls-kids-2959755/

Just made two weeks ago. Pretty much said what you said... why do you have to have a pitbull. Just get a fucking Lab or something.

People say 'well he was a pseudo tough guy owner!'...sounds like in this story it was just some average joe nerd who was in over his head. Surprise surprise.

Would have went King Kong on it and snapped its jaw backwards. My dog is only 3lb.

Read my posts at the beginning of page 13 to inform yourself then reconsider your opinion.

Anecdotal experience. We allow several bully, molosser, and other large breeds off leash at my gym where children are present. Never had any issue. They don't even bother anyone doing drills like sprinting/grappling and are not spooked by loud padwork or screaming children.

people let dogs off their lead while walking the street coz they think it make them look good. 'i can control my dog, i'm great, he doesn't need a lead, we have a special relationship and he'll do anything for me.'
then you get the guys who think having a pit bull is like having a weapon on show all the time. they're an extention of their manhood for these guys.
'i look tough, no one will mess with me, i've got a pit bull.'
these people make me sick!

all dogs should be muzzled when out and about. if not then certain breeds should be legal.
i trained dogs for years and all owners, especially for some breeds should have to go to obedience classes for months and achieve a specific level, or the dog goes.
i have no idea why local authorities do not implement such a thing, there has to be a reason why not? plus a reason for no muzzle law either?

I'd be OK with muzzling all dogs while outside. Really no reason not to.

Just speaking from personal experience. I have seen 5 dog attacks in my life, all 5 were pits. Could just be a coincidence, but in my experience Pits do tend to snap more often then other dogs.

I don't think the way I do because I hate pits or because I read shit on the internet. I go by what I've seen, and I have seen well adjusted pit-bulls, and I have also seen those same well adjusted pits all of a sudden have violent moments and do real damage to people and other animals.

I think it might be a coincidence, man. I've known multiple people throughout my life that have owned pitbulls, myself included, and have never had seen or heard of any type of attack on another dog or person. The two times I've been attacked by a dog, one was a Golden Retriever, and the other was a Chihuahua. Dogs are dogs, man.

This is also anecdotal.

This is also anecdotal.

Which is why I said it was anecdotal....

The post I reference on page 13 is scholarly and scientific from the Canine Research Council. I also posted the website of a 3rd party agency that does an objective and standardized test of temperament for dog breeds.

I had to throw a pitbull/boxer mix off my dog when he was only 1 as I was walking him in a park and the pit ran across the street from a house where he wasn't leashes and entered the park. It came running at my dog again and I got in the middle and surprisingly he veered off but only for a few feet. I was literally yelling at the dog and threatening him like a person (not sure why, just was my reaction) as the dog stayed about 3 feet from us showing his teeth and barking. The dumbass neighbor heard me yelling and came running out with a leash and apologized but part of me still wanted to kill him on the spot as my dog was bleeding from the neck.

If I had thought it was in any way intentional it would have been a bad chapter in both our lives. I knew it was an accident and reluctantly let it go. I'm glad your dog is all right.

I have a bunch of buddies with Pitbulls. Probably the nicest and friendliest dogs I know. But I'm sure they kill kids in their spare time when nobody is looking
They are clearly lulling you into a false sense of security

:)

The other problem is that there are people who take pride in their dogs beating other dogs in a fight. I remember talking to this one asshole bragging about how tough his dog was. He was telling me some story about how this one dog had a reputation for being tough at the dog park until his dog kicked that dog's ass. What kind of retard takes pride in their dog fighting at a public dog park?

Lol that's incredibly immature hope that guy doesn't breed
