Opinion PINO - Populist In Name Only

That's right lady and gentlemen, I'm talking about the Orange Ogre, Glumf.

Exhibit A: Tariff exemptions

I was listening to Breaking Points and they reported Nvidia paid $1,000,000 for a seat at a fund raiser right before this exemption was rolled out. So basically if you have money to throw around you can get an exemption. But smaller companies are going to still get hammered. Its going to be another upward transfer of wealth. Possibly worse than what we saw with the Covid lockdowns.

Exhibit B: Cutting off funding for universities because he is a cuck for Israel.

There are probably some valid reasons to try to facilitate change at some of these institutions, but protesting the zionists isn't one of them. Its disgusting how cucked the Republicans are. It really makes you wonder what they have over them.

Exhibit C: DOGE harassing grannies for their social security checks.

When I heard Vivek and Musk were going to try to reduce waste and fraud, I was somewhat optimistic. You would think the Pentagon Budget would be a gold mine of waste and abuse, but of course they're going after grannies' checks that they paid into their entire lives.

Exhibit D: Increasing military spending and threatening war all over the world

So much for investing back into our own country for a change, but I guess Israel will be happy. They'll be even happier if we start a war with Iran - https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/worl...o-middle-east-as-trump-threatens-to-bomb-iran

Exhibit E: Fucking with our public lands.

So basically they want the land to be turned into summer homes for wealthy people.

Exhibit F: Siding with Musk on H1 Visas

I personally work in Tech and feel strongly on this topic. So strongly that I teamed up with known commie @deviake to speak up against it. This was just a way for wealthy business owners to stifle wage growth and maintain a class of highly dependent workers. In my personal experience the work coming from H1 Visa holders was sub par and I call bullshit on us needing them.

Inb4 I'm called a TDS riddled far-right libtard nazi.

Despite the very best efforts from psychotic fucktards to put me off from doing so, I'm still voting Dem in 2026. Not for Dems themselves (who have less than nothing to offer me), but in support of Congressional Gridlock. It's a minimum requirement.

Its weird how some of the guys here can't understand how some of us don't align 100% with a particular political tribe.

Imagine the predicament when I have to vote for a party that doesn't believe in gun rights, self-defense, border security, or even the territorial integrity of the country and often gives the impression that it prioritizes violent criminals and illegal migrants over law-abiding, taxpaying US citizens and constituents all because Drimp wants to shred the Constitution, put the entire American economy at risk with his bullshit, and has gone after every fucking thing I specifically did not want him to fuck with. The Absolute State.

Meh , you've spent years defending him while being told what a worthless cunt he was, are we supposed to cheer your awakening?
Yes you are whole heartedly and with gusto you are!

The whole point of arguing is to come to enlightenment and if more people who believed in the Trump fallacy awaken to the effect of his actions and choices, as @Mr Holmes just did in a well thought out and fact based post, they you are supposed to support him.

As @no fat chicks pointed out
Good on for avoiding the sunk cost fallacy and hopping off the train!
Too many people stick with their first answer for fear of "being wrong" or "seeming weak" when what we're all supposed to do is look at the facts and make fluid decisions as things change

Hell even @cottagecheesefan just mentioned that Bannon is blathering about overriding the constitution on a third term and overstepping by firing Powell and if that spoiled cheese curb can recognize this, there is hope for all except maybe @ColemanwastheGOAT who is loveable in his own simple way and we will always care for him if we can, and @Whippy McGee who's surfing we respect but who/s sunk cost bias is deeper than the Titanic.

G'morning everyone, let's go out and make the world a better place.

I think a big problem with her, is that you could tell she was trying to maintain relevancy after picking a fight she shouldn't have in a seemingly opportune time, and put all her eggs into a basket of "Maybe I can be a Liberal hero, now that Trumpism is dying?". She read the tea leaves wrong, and suffered for it. A lot of Republicans did the same after Jan 6th.

They hopped off of a boat that had a hole in it, and misjudged how big it was. Only the smart ones jumped back in once they used some duct tape to patch it up. Ted Cruz was the guy helping them back in, while saying "I get it."

The ones who didn't? Well, they end up like Liz Cheney.
Right so you support the people willing to let the constitution and law enforcement literraly be trampled as long as it helps their party over the people that show some honor and try to hold criminals accountable.

When you hold Ted Cruz up as the standard bearer of democracy, you lose me. Hell even his neighbors hate Ted

Very noble and honorable. Your av is perfect

I'm right where you are sherbro, will never settle with modern leftists but also can't ignore the Zionist cock sucking and H1B1, etc.

The last 5 years have negatively impacted my faith in democracy. You've alway been an honest guy, this is an honest conclusion to come to
H1B1 visas are one of your major grievances with the GOP? With all due respect given all that's happened these first 100 days that seems minor.

The issue is that people can be right for the wrong reasons if that makes sense. OP's gripe with Trump is that he's not enough of a reactionary populist whereas I think Trump's reactionary populism is precisely the problem.

Its like criticizing the Islamic Republic of Iran for being too tolerant of transgenders, kind of misses the bigger picture as to why that regime is so horrid.

Lol, that was your take away? Let me guess, all you read was the title and then drew a bunch of conclusions.
I read through your post the other day when I first popped into the thread and yes that was my take away. Your take is that he's not populist enough whereas I think he's too populist so we're probably going to disagree about what direction we think the country should take.

For example one of your grievances is that Trump isn't cracking down on H1B visas enough and another is that he's not sticking to the broad tariff policy which are a few areas where he's diverged from reactionary populists whereas I'm all in favor of H1Bs and against the tariffs generally in favor of free trade. On the tariff issue though I could be misreading you in that you might not necessarily support the tariffs but are especially against imposing them only to allow exemptions for suck ups which would be fair.

Of course I don't disagree with all your criticisms, I agree that Trump cracking down on anti-Zionist speech and gutting SS is bad.

I would agree, it is minor now. Whereas in Dec, Jan when Elon and Vivek crashed out on X, the subject was higher on my grievance list.

I could have listed something else in front of it

That makes sense. I'm on the opposite end of the H1B debate but idk if this is the thread to litigate that. Cheers.

Lol @ butthurt @ mentions out of nowhere. You've never really interacted with me on your @toasty account bud. Must be on one of your other accounts.

Getting sloppy, bud.

Hmm free trade and unregulated labor markets... Sounds like your problem with Trump is he's not enough of a reactionary libertarian!

Thats like criticizing the Islamic Republic of Iran for being too tolerant of transgenders, kind of misses the bigger picture as to why that regime is so horrid.

This is their new strategy. They can't compete by explaining why the Dem platform is better because it's been utterly rejected by voters, so the new thing is to say that Trump isn't REALLY free market.

They do the same thing saying if you support him you're a 'traitor' or not a 'real American' basically lifting 2002-era Bush Republican strategies because the Dem strategy of open borders and trans surgeries for everyone failed so spectacularly.

They can't explain why they're 'better' so they have to argue that Trump isn't really all those things people voted for.

So you're in support of the tariffs in theory, just against the exemptions?

Either way, support for free trade had a bipartisan consensus for a time and if anything it's leftists who were against it because "muh capitalism"

We can see what that kind of protectionism does to markets based on the reaction to "Liberation Day", suffice to say its nothing good.

Donald Trump stopped Israel bombing Iran this is the first time I have heard a of a US president telling srael no.

I think tariffs that are well thought out and strategically executed can be a good thing. But the Liberation Day nonsense is retarded.

You you don't even remember me (quiviering lips, gathering teradrops in eyes) This truly hurts!!

I’ve included you multiple posts as the pinnacle primo zenith tantamount example of simple minded MAGApidity and you've replied proving my point on multiple occasions.

I rigged the goddamned War Room presidential election by flooding it with pro Capp & Carrots Mayberry voters.

I’ve included you in the weird random stories made up of @Sherdog names I randomly post.

For god’s sake I’m a drunken crying liberal snowflake rabbit who trolls you endlessly and you don’t even remember me? Sheeeet I thought we had bonded in sort of a Bugs vs Elmer Fudd kinda way (BTW U Elmer)

Now if @cottagecheesefan fan disowns me I’ll have no arch enemies and what will the point of coming here be then?

They hopped off of a boat that had a hole in it, and misjudged how big it was. Only the smart ones jumped back in once they used some duct tape to patch it up. Ted Cruz was the guy helping them back in, while saying "I get it."
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
@HereticBD you called Cruz the smart one who patched up the Republican boat with duct tape. At that moment I gave up all hope for your salvation and wished that Tyrion the Imp would come along and give you and Ted Cruz both a healthy slap.

Chef's kiss for the Joffrey Av though, you wear it well.

@curryjunkie Irish right? lovers of happy wars and sad songs? Famed for their donkey like stubbornness and joyous drunken brawls?

If you can't credit @Mr Holmes when he is right, you're just the flip side of the MAGA cultists

I guess that makes you LAGA Lefty Against Gaining Anything.

Me I'm a BAGA, Bunny Against Global Anarchy!
