I swear to god half of his hype came from the fact that he's a similar gen Z fruitcake cut from the same cloth as O'Malley, so he must be on the precise same path as O'Malley because he too has some flashy striking.

I couldn't believe he was a +675 underdog. Yeah he's old and been KOed but Raoni at anything more than +300 against an unranked up and comer is a steal of a bet.
Honestly he didn't look that bad in trying to defend the grappling, Raoni had to pull out some slick finishes to get him to the mat. Your average BJJ guy who only kind of knows wrestling would've got sparked but Raoni was a national level competitor in wrestling in Brazil which might not have the best reputation in that sport but indicates that Raoni has much more mat time and experience in wrestling than your average BR fighter.
This right here. The moment he started to think we wanted to hear about his life and what he thinks masculinity should be, I started to write him off in my head. As for the fight itself, I heard someone else say this and I kind of agree; Talbot was more worried about looking nonchalant and cool in losing than he did actually winning, even if it meant making things a little ugly in the process. I can see him coming back from this and being like a middling fighter. Maybe above average. But I don't see him ever becoming elite. It's hard to come back from a loss like this as a prospect where you were completely helpless, especially when you rely on fighting in an unconventional way. His coaches are probably going to try to get him to work on his fundamentals, and he will be more hesitant to let his hands go.
You don't have to be undefeated to be a promising, upcoming star. These guys just aren't that good.
