If this is the case then why did he get controlled by Adesanya a MW on the ground for a whole round easily.

Sure, in training and a lighter grappling session. I think would be quite different in a real fight going 100% with striking. I just don't see Khamzat being able to get in those positions to sub him. I think he gets finished before then

Again at MW, drained and not in his best weight class. If this fight was at MW different, story. It's a 50/50 fight at that point IMO. But at LHW, where you got optimal Poatan with a big size advantage. I don't see this working out well for Khamzat, just too big.

he was a former WW himself, and nobody fighting at 170 actually weights 170, so yeah you do seem quite new to this

Again, key point here is MW. Alex at 205 is a very different fighter, much stronger and not drained. Izzy would not be able to do that at 205. And I don't see Khamzat having much success either, despite being a phenomenal grappler. You got a 20 lbs size difference here and an opponent that can finish the fight in a split second. I just don't see Khamzat being able to survive the offeence.

Others can correct me if I’m wrong - Taking an opponent down isn’t exclusively subject to how much weight you can carry. If that was the case BJJ/ grappling would be obsolete in mma. It’s also about maneuvering and finding weaknesses to exploit. Now if Pereira had some semblance of a ground game I’d be with you but he doesn’t. What those mountain men learn for decades you need decades to neutralize . Kayla Harris giving him a blue belt is just theatrics at best.

Youre banking on Pereira having exemplar Tdd (which isn’t going to be the case) and catching him on the way in.

I’m intrigued as to how you’ve been watching since at least 05 and make a conclusion like this ?
 
Chimaev is ducking DDP and Pereira. Won’t happen
 
I know the names can sound similar but I think what they were looking for is Ankalaev…. Right? Just a misunderstanding… Right? Surely they wouldn’t do something that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

He was also taken down by Jan at LHW.

But Poatan has servicable sub defense and has only been in any submission trouble 1 time that I can remember.
 
doubt it happens... but this would be a HUGE fight

If khamzat wins they have another star they can go to abu dhabi with. If he loses, no stock lost.

lets be honest perreira is getting older and his value to the company is diminishing
 
I just saw poatan will headline 313 and they have not yet announced an opponent. this would somewhat make sense. I am not sure who else they would pick at this point.

Keep in mind that was over 2 years ago. He's fought 6 times since then.

His counter wrestling looks much improved.

Granted, he is still a fairly terrible grappler by UFC standards, but IMO its incorrect to say he's the same grappler he was 6 fights ago.
 
If Perreira isnt fighting Ank because Ramadan I doubt he fights Khamzat either

- Chimaev easily. Or not easily, Chimaev though. He will get the takedown and then, he's good at what he does. But hypothetically, let's say that Chimaev slows down.
Pereira won't. He can strike asleep, dude's been doing it his whole life. He'd kill Chimaev in the stand-up.
