Matt Brown is gonna lose his weakness is grapplers, he has to keep it standing. Well guess what Maia has to keep it on the ground his weakness is striking. First round vs Rory, Maia dominated him then got tired and was scared shitless standing vs Rory shooting these terrible take downs cause he was scared to set them up with his hands first. I'm not saying Brown won't lose but to talk like it is a guarantee is silly. Just funny how everyone talks how Matt can't get taken down but forget standing Maia is in probably a worse scenario vs Matt than he is with Maia on the ground. Goes both ways folks

Browns been submitted 9 times, Maia's only been ko'd once

If Maia gets him on the ground, Stick a fork in him, he's done.

Demians Jitz is just at a whole other level.

Browne is in much more trouble on the ground than Maia is on the feet. Maia has some of the slickest takedowns in the game, but Browne IS better on the feet and can land that one clean shot that will lead to a finish.

Would like to see Matt win but I think he's going to lose by RNC in the 3rd round.

Bad fight for Brown, but I still hope he does well. I am obligated to root for my white trash Ohio brethren.

If Browne hurts Maia on the feet he will likely have to follow Maia to the ground to try and finish him... you see where I'm going with this. Browne could win of course, but the skill disparity is much greater on the ground.

Browne wont threaten Maia that much IMO. He's not a knockout artist or hits crazy hard. Hes gonna try to break Maia like he did Silva with constant pressure but Maias wrestling/takedowns are damn good now. Once its on the mat its a whole new ballgame. Just a matter of time

You need to get fucked up by your barber.

Maia is not the most durable fighter. If he takes damage from Brown his bjj goes down a few belt levels, not to mention his wrestling and takedowns.

Brown is getting taken down and subbed in the first round. Second round at latest.

I haven't seen too many people picking brown

Edit : I guess there are some people having trouble with this. I must just ignore them

I'm so torn here but...remember it's been a while since matt has been tapped out almost 60 UFC's I think and he has a brown belt in judo so he's not easy to take down and he's not to bad at bjj himself but don't get me wrong he does not want to go to the ground with Maia but if he gets taken down he won't be like james toney and dude above has got a point about Maia only being ko'd once and he actually rarely gets knocked down as well if I'm not mistaken only anderson nate and maybe rory have done that but yeah I love these guys so much so I hope it's a draw with one 10 8 round for Maia followed by 2 10 9 rounds for matt

That belt level cliche works for most people but not Maia

Browns dope as fuck and an easy fan favorite. I think anyone picking him over Maia is more or less just going off of heart. They want him to win cuz he's a beast, not because he matches well with maia.

I think Brown will go out there looking awesome like he always does then get tangled up and tapped. More or less an ugly fight for anyone who doesnt love Maia's craft.

Refer to the Rory fight. Maia looke super sharp until he took some damage and was not even 25% as effective as he was by the start of round 3.

Granted Rory is a beast and Brown isn't quite on that level.

Maia will win. It will only be a matter of time. He can take him down and sub him or pull guard.

Matt is going to hurt Maia standing and then Maia is going to shoot and get guillotine choked.

And then Sherdog explodes.

The majority of people I've talked to slightly favor maia, but they've all seemed to think that Brown is a live dog.

Did you read one post where someone said Maia would easily finish Brown, and then come and make a new thread about how you disagree?
