PBF-Madonna 2 PPV numbers

Not every one has to do the chicken dance to be hurt. You never seen a fighter take a shot and all of a sudden there backing up and throwing less?

idk if floyd would of KO'd maidana but he was controlling the fight and had him backing up before maidana bit him. that gave him time to recover.

THat is the answer to your question

I did see him land a few solid right hands to counter the jab, but he never followed up with anything. He fights like a guy who has supreme confidence in his KO power, without actually having it. His volume seems to be getting less and less from previous earlier fights.

Stop with the bs, you were the one who made the swindled blacks and mexicans comments being a smart ass. Who I'm a fan of has no bearing on the conversation at hand. The only damage he has done in recent memory is when he sucker punched Victor Ortiz. He doens't care about dominating and stopping opponents, only about pay days. Not the best ever mentality.

He hurt the current lineal MW champion a couple of times in their fight. He hurt Guerrero a few times, as well. As far as the "the best ever", it's a long conversation that requires an actual knowledge of boxing and its history, so while I don't think Floyd is necessarily "the best ever", I don't think your opinion on it one way or the other carries any weight, whatsoever.

But yours does? I love people who shit on other's opinions like they are some expert on a message board, hilarious.

My point is the only posts you make around here involve showing up around big fights and then complaining about Mayweather and his style, and then make grandiose statements about how this isn't acceptable in a sport you show an apparent cursory interest in. Then you essentially say that anyone who watches Mayweather is brainwashed or is watching based on nationalism or racial loyalty. Why would I, or anyone else here respect your opinions if this is all you've ever brought to any conversation regarding boxing on here?

I've been watching boxing since the early 90's and I still watch it, I just don't get excited about enough fights anymore to come here an post all the time. I read this forum though quite a bit and I try to stay current with the sport and watch as many fights that are televised as I can. I'm not trying to be negative I just don't see how people are so blind, I guess I just expect more and I think fans should as well from the so called best ever. They seem to do nothing but defend him even when he has a poor performance and a boring fight. I don't see anyone else criticizing him. I only brought race into this when it comes to Mayweather's business model, because it is transparent and I'm not the only one who talks about that.

He was a killer in his earlier career much like Floyd was, funny you say that because a lot of my friends call Floyd the GSP of boxing with how strategic and technical they are in what they do.

Most fighters take fewer chances as they age because they know they have more vulnerabilities. They both have the skillset to win fights without going for the kill, even though I'd like to see both of them show that killer instinct as long as they are still fighting.

But would you ever say GSP fans were brainwashed or watching out of white pride? Apparently that's the stance you took with Floyd.

I would say what you said is true but also these guys take less chances and risks when they are the chance because their success and marketing hinges on being the champ. Floyd is obsessed with the whole undefeated thing and rightfully so. I made that statement because I see the general public who don't care about boxing always claim TMT to try to be trendy and what not, I'm not talking about a knowledgeable boxing or combat sports fan.

Plenty of people on here criticize Floyd all the time and this recent was no different. I wasn't all that impressed with his performance, actually. The whole "TBE" is something that almost no regular poster on here agrees with or particularly cares about. It's a hype tool and not a lot more. Your point about Floyd's approach to getting PPV buys isn't wholly wrong in the sense that a lot of the interest in him stems from the sizable Latino fanbase wanting him to lose, but saying it's a factor in him generating interest , and simplifying the popularity of a fighter who has had a claim to being the best fighter in the world for about 15 years down to nationalism and racial bias are two different things.

I'm obviously not saying that's the only factor, but it certainly plays a key part in it. Race has always been a huge factor in boxing, I don't think anyone can deny that. And there is nothing wrong with nationalistic pride. I don't see much criticism of him tbh, but maybe I should look harder. The way I see it is that hardcore boxing fans should want the guy who is the face of the sport and the biggest combat sports star to be more than what he is, especially when he is as conservative as he has been in the last 5 fights or so.

Just read my posts lol

I've had a love/hate fanhood with Floyd for many years. I hate so much about him as a person, promoter, and business man. But I love the fact that an American champ has dominated for this long, and I used to really like watching him box. But I think the majority of what you'll see me say about Floyd is negative on here. Slim, Wand, and LI too.

Well I'm glad people can be objective lol

Setting aside his personal shit, his women beating, and racist comments I absolutely respect him as a fighter....he is one of the best I've ever seen...

I've only had one criticism of mayweather...I wish he fought more because we won't see talent like his in a while.

Jesus. Get off Mayweather's jock already.

Pac hater obviously.

Speaking of Pac Hater. You know that Ariza is suing Roach and said Roach believes manny was juicing with AA. Ariza said that if that is true, Roach will have to say it in court for the Lawsuit and the truth will come out.

So that puts Roach on the spot. If he takes the stand and says he believes Manny was juicing, he fucks Manny but if changes and said he doesn't believe Manny was, he loses his lawsuit and has to pay AA millions.

One could argue that consistently entering the ring as the smaller man isn't that much of a conservative approach. His last fight is open to some criticism, no doubt. I don't think Mayweather's performances against Canelo, Maidana (in their first fight) or Cotto can be criticized much from an entertainment or conduct point of view (in terms of excessive holding and so on). Those are three fights are all reasonably recent. Boxing isn't all about getting the KO and it never has been.

You make a good point about size, but it's only a few pounds right? In the grand scheme of things how much is that really going to have an effect? Cotto was a good performance, Canelo was pretty good as well. The first Maidana fight was entertaining because Maidana tried to make it into a brawl. I agree with your last point, but when you're that superior to your opponent skill wise I believe you should try and impose your will on them more. If anything it's more dangerous to coast for 12 rounds against guys because it gives them that much more of a chance to win the fight and catch you with something.
