PBF-Madonna 2 PPV numbers

Lets say Floyd did fight and beat Golovkin. How long would it be before people accused him of ducking a fight with Andre Ward?

As soon as he signed on to fight GGG, somebody would say he was ducking Ward.

I'd be okay with a Cotto fight at 154, but not for the middleweight title.

Regardless of the outcome, There would be nothing left of Floyd if he fought GGG. He would be entitled to do what RJJ should have done after beating John Ruiz, and that's riding off into the sunset.

You know there was a serious article on yahoo sports already saying this?

The guy obviously doesnt know shit but to write that on mainline website was outrageous.

Iole is a clown. In other news, Floyd ducking Adonis Stevenson.

I it will be Cotto at MW and a Cotto rematch should push him over 1mill.

Plus i swear I read somewhere were Floyd said he wanted Canelo on the under in Mexico City in a dual city broadcast. So no way Saul vs Cotto happens as a undercard bout.

If I was Cotto I would go with Canelo. He has a greater chance to beat Canelo, and the event will be huge, he will also get a nice paycheck since his drawing power is almost the same as Canelo. Mayweather only paid Cotto 8 mill, and I could see both Cotto and Canelo making easily 15 million+ and cuts from PPV.

True Canelo would be the better fight for Cotto for sure. Not sure about 15 million dollars paydays. I think even on a 50/50 split it would be more around 8-10 million each.

There was an article saying he was ducking GGG or Ward? That's truly terrible. Seeing Floyd standing next to either of them would show the hilarious size difference. Floyd proved he's a badass by going to 154. Going to 160 would be dangerous, especially at 38. That's the kind of stuff you expect to see in the comments of a youtube video, not from a professional writer.

Some people disagree, but I have the same feeling about Pacquiao going to 154 to fight Canelo. Having a 5'6 former flyweight fighting a guy in the 170's on fight night is insane. Pac's already pushing the envelope a bit staying at 147 this late in his career. I think we've all noticed he has been picking small welterweights to fight lately, mainly guys who have come up from 140 (Marquez, Bradley, Rios, Algieri). Some people don't know that he's fighting Algieri at a 144 catch-weight, and that was Pacquiao's idea. Algieri wanted the fight at 147. That's because Pacquiao shouldn't even be in the WW division anymore, he should be fighting Garcia and Mathysse at 140. He went up as high as he could in his prime to make money and get huge fights, but he should be done with that now and go back down a bit where he's more natural. If he fought Canelo, Canelo would have to come down to at least 150, and fighting Canelo at a catch-weight would just bring on the old "catch-weight champ" talk. It's not worth it when there's good fighters at 140 and 147 to fight.

I actually think Floyd and Manny both would have a good chance at winning those fights. But that's not the point at all. Pac easily destroyed Margarito, and then said it was a huge mistake. Guys just aren't built to take hits from guys that are that much bigger than you. Especially this late in their careers.

I agree that Cotto vs Canelo is a better fight. I'd LOVE to see that. That's actually #1 on my wishlist.

I don't know what their purses would be, but it'd be the biggest selling fight possible involving anyone not named Floyd or Manny.

Ya i looked for the article and cant find it right now. It was about a year ago and was posted on here but floyd was ducking ward

Lol. I believe Ward medaled as a light heavyweight in the olympics. Floyd medaled as a featherweight. Who allowed that guy to be a boxing writer?

Floyd has plenty of competition at or around his own weight. He could fight Pacquiao, Bradley, rematch Cotto, or take a step down in competition and fight Thurman or Khan.

If he wants to add something new to really boost his legacy he can fight GGG at 154. But if he doesn't want to it's not a dodge.

The reason he gets so much criticism is because he anoints himself the best boxer of all time, and he hasn't done something amazing enough to boldly make that claim. He's had an amazing career, but a lot of boxers have done amazing things in their careers. So to have that kind of arrogance you really need to do something crazy.

Whatever rafael reports, I will take that. The 925k is what showtime was projecting as the ceiling.

I think mayweather not going for the kill or "sitting down on his punches" is due to his brittle hands. That always has to be in the back of his head.
