Whittaker fights very well off the back foot. Costa's charge in and smash style will not work. He might catch Rob but i doubt it. This better be for a interim Whittaker could have gotten a rematch off the Till fight let alone 3 fights against top 5 contenders.

Yeah. Most former champs don't have to stack up 3 top 5 ranked wins in a row after they lose their belt just to get another shot. Tough luck for the reaper I guess. The good thing is that I think he wins this one handily.

Costa's done exactly nothing since Adesanya emasculated so why should he deserve what at a minimum would be a number 1 contender fight?

He's not vacating until after the Jan fight at the earliest and that's predicated on him winninng the LHW belt. Should he beat Jan then decide his next fight will be at LHW instead of MW he should thenb be stripped of the MW belt. If he loses to Jan I imagine he'd be back at MW.

Pretty easy to from a matchmaking perspective. Fight wise I like ii but if this is legit don't see how Costa's somehow fallen into what at a minimum will de facto be a number 1 contender fight.

This will be a fun scrap but I think Bobby deserves a TS back 2 back wins against Till and cannonier should be enough. If he is going to fight once more match him up against Vettori. Winner would then be undisputed NO. 1. Costa should be fighting Till or Joker imo

I'm cool with it. Confused on why others aren't? Whittaker said he isn't pushing for another title fight just yet. This is the next biggest fight he can book right now, and a win should clinch his next shot at the title.

If he wins he won't be stripped. UFC loves double champs, good for PPV buys and makes adeysana even more marketable. Plus if he's a double champ it makes the Jones fight even bigger. The goat vs the double champ. Whittaker and Costa already lost to him, Till is out, Cannonier just lost. Marvin is the only current new contender. So they won't be super concerned about holding up a division of contenders.
