They're 1-1 imoMakes Whittaker beating twice all the more impressive.
I mean, Whittaker is a can.

Agreed on most but Yoel did damage when he connected and when he decided to fight (usually in the 3rd round) he usually ended the fights. He had 50 minutes combined trying to smash Whittaker and he couldn't when he was doing it to most others. Not really. Maybe guys like Derek Brunson and Ronny Markes taking Yoel down multiple times is impressive. In MMA Yoel was gifted but super flawed, lacked technique standing, horrible cardio for 15 minutes and could only fight at a slow pace/limited output, his top control was never the best although his takedowns were incredible but also drained his cardio a lot.
Dude hit really hard, had an insane wrestling base, he was explosive with good reflexes but not insanely quick. No fight IQ to speak of. Its honestly impressive Yoel got as far as he did, I thought he lost to Jacare and probably should have been finished by Tim.
IMO whittaker is yoel 2 is the worst scoring of an mma fight I've ever seen in this history of the sport. There are atleast 3 scores that are more reasonable than 48-47 whittaker. He had 50 minutes combined trying to smash Whittaker and he couldn't when he was doing it to most others.
IIRC I gave Romero rounds 3 and 5 but by the time that 5th round was beginning I thought Yoel needed a finish to get the win, which is all he would've gotten since he missed weight.IMO whittaker is yoel 2 is the worst scoring of an mma fight I've ever seen in this history of the sport. i scored it a draw for what it's worth
yeah but there's no reality in which round 5 would not be a 10-8 round. so it's a draw for whittaker at absolute bestIIRC I gave Romero rounds 3 and 5 but by the time that 5th round was beginning I thought Yoel needed a finish to get the win, which is all he would've gotten since he missed weight.
Choked a little laughing on that oneYou know who also saw Yoel wrestle.... the vampire Lestat
Well after Romero dropped Whittaker his GnP got slower and slower and that allowed Whittaker to recover where Romero laid against him, too gassed to put any force in those knees for the rest of the fight. It was close, but I wouldn't quite score it 10-8 but that's only me.yeah but there's no reality in which round 5 would not be a 10-8 round. so it's a draw for whittaker at absolute best
round 3 could also reasonably be a 10-8, i didn't score it that way. but it could have been.Well after Romero dropped Whittaker his GnP got slower and slower and that allowed Whittaker to recover where Romero laid against him, too gassed to put any force in those knees for the rest of the fight.
