Pantoja should be next for Merab

I don't see why Pantoja isn't super interested in this fight.
It brings a lot of eyes, money and a chance to make some history (although I don't treat double champ status that much valuable).
If he loses then oh well, he was undersized.
Everything to gain nothing to lose almost.
And he is not risking of getting knocked the fuck out since Merab isn't that type of fighter.

its flyweight

ufc would rather merab go up and fight volk or something. But merab will never call for it. He's happy just staying in his lane and collecting checks.

Pantoja is not really interested in the fight and he is worried that he would not be able to defend both belts, as it would be difficult to gain and cut weight. He wants to defend the 125 belt as that’s his division.

When asked how someone could beat a machine like Merab, he says that he would try it with jiujitsu. He would go back to training with gi to get more strength in grappling.

Luckily there will be no more double champ BS. The UFC finally put their foot down, fighters have to vacate now to do this and I don't see that happening.

If Merab beats Corey and Pantoja beats KKF I would be down for that fight. Potential BW goat vs the most dominant FLW we've seen since DJ. It's not like there's anything else new for Pantoja unless Van beats Royvall.

Neither champ has a very interesting #1 contender right now.

So why not? Pantoja have several tittle defenses at this point so he has earned this opportunity.

Both are greats at cardio so we might have an interesting match up right here.
Mokaev just won again this weekend. Could always sign him back for a title fight.

Why people thnk that moving up a weight class is so easy? Weight classes exist for a reason and there is a reason why fighters about kill they selves to make weight at the lower level. Moving up a weight class as a champ, should never ever be a title shot, aka jumpin the line. They should have a top 10 fight and then a number 1 contender fight then a title shot if they move up weight. But then again the UFC isn't a real sport and is basically is wwe with fighting (won't even say the fighting is real as we know its scripted, our inside fighter black beast done said it so (or was it some other fighter)). Basically title shots are just popularity contests. Sean never deserved a rematch with Merab, yet Dana loves the pink haired bicurious goofs so Dana gave him the title shot, hoping Sean would him a back room bonus.
