Palhares should not be cut! The Ref sucks.

Do you guys think there would be a difference if the fight was reffed by a bigger guy and not this flyweightlooking dude?

I do prefer when refs are proportional to the fighters. Put more force into the stoppages and breaks. But a fighter who doesn't respect the ref shouldn't be in there regardless of size

I agree the ref could have been more authoritive but here is the timepline:

Pierce starts tapping at 4:31. He taps Palhares thight about 4-5 times before the ref gets inbetween him and Palhares.

The ref jumps in touched Palhares on his shoulder at 4:30 and also his thigh.

The clock fades out but going by the timecodes on my video its 1.5-2 sec AFTER first being touched by the ref that he lets go of the sub.

He is cranking and increasing the torque for 3 seconds after the first tap. That's a lifetime with heelhooks.

I love how all these Palhares apologists use this hyper speed gif to justify his actions. The only thing Peterson should have done differently is hit him over the head with a shovel.

Palhares deserves what he got because he does crank after people tap. According to Bustamante he even kept injuring people in sparring so there's just something wrong with him.

Hilarious of the TS to try to blame it on the ref. I guess this is what they have to resort to after Mike Pierce got a 180 day medical suspension after that fight.

The gif and video proves there was no second crank. It really sucks one of the most exciting guys in the UFC is gone while we still have to suffer through Edgar and Mighty Mouse "fights"

You can see Pierce tap, the ref comes in and then Pierce jerks and screams in pain again. The hold is clearly still being applied hard. That's now how you handle submissions, especially dangerous ones. You crank until the opponent taps, no more. Tons of fighters show that it's not hard to do, although Palhares even injures people in training (even people that are training for fights).

Of course it can't be easy if you're one of the people not gifted enough to understand that you can just not watch the fights you don't want to see.

Lets get this clear, no matter what you say the rules are, THE FIGHT IS OVER WHEN THE REF BREAKS IT UP.

This is Soares talking about sonnens phantom tap

"I was upset that Chael was...trying to deny at first that he tapped. I went through that scenario once before with Chael myself, with Paulo Filho. "

Guys have done it before, couple that with the fact of what happened in the Miller fight.

The ref jumped in the wrong place like super mario.
The ref was so far away from the action.

That was bull to cut him, the ref stops the fight not the fighter, Palhares did nothing wrong this time, he held the sub for maybe 0.5 seconds after but that's normal.
