There is just no way he beats them both.

He can't stand with Ilia and probably can't consistently take him down either though I suppose it's not impossible.

He can't grapple with Islam and likely can't consistently stop the takedown though I suppose that's not impossible either.

Then again I thought he'd be done if Chandler committed to a grappling heavy gameplan but that didn't work either for him. Just shows Chandler is too old and beat up to do that anymore.

I think I just talked myself into giving Paddy a chance against either. Still think he's a significant underdog to both but there is a path to victory at least.

I could see him putting it on Ilia. The last time we saw Ilia grapple, he got outworked by Bryce Mitchell. Not exactly a terrible grappler, but Paddy seems to be just as good on the ground and a hell of a lot stronger. Obviously his chin is great, but Ilia's power has probably translated fine to LW. His KO over Charles was nice, but it was more about placement.

Islam fucks him up, though.
