Owlsquad check in

I didn't want Ank to win, but after Alex fought like a wimp I was glad to see the Owl take home the belt.

Congrats to the bath tub brigade and all it's members.

Chama was a victim of his own hype. A total pompous, arrogant jerk who never took Ankalaev seriously. No wonder he lost. I could see the Rousey-effect coming where it was only a matter of time before he got exposed. I knew this was going to happen.

What in the actual fuck is this drivel? Lol

Truth hurt doesn't it? He was traveling through Australia swarmed by large crowds doing his CHAMA non-stop and throwing the bow and arrow thing at the crowds while Ankalaev was training hard in the mountains for the fight. What part of that did you not understand?

Poatan repeatedely said Ankalaev was not a significant challenge amongst the people he had beaten. He consistently down played the challenge. He already was looking past Ankalaev in the several weeks leading up to the fight talking constantly about Jon Jones and Usyk. Did you miss the part where he actually did facetime with Jon Jones just 2 days out from the fight to discuss their fight? Go look at Jones' twitter. Why would he not be focused on his next fight as opposed to facetiming with Jones?

Also, today Poatan confronted Ankalaev in the hallway while Ankalaev was walking with his coaches. While there was no physical confrontation, Dana White said the UFC officials needed to step in. Dana White also complained about how Poatan was mean mugging a journalist who asked him a tough question and the team had to be on high alert because it seemed like Poatan was going to jump and beat the sh*t out of the journalist.

All of that sounds normal behavior to you, but to me that is not how a champion conducts himself. His head got too big and he turned into this arrogant, pompous jerk who became a victim of his own hype.

Gonna have to hit you with a clean TLDR as your first post was shit and this one is likely the same. Whatever you typed, I'm glad you got it out, bud.

I like Pereira so I'm not gonna trash him too bad, but he was definitely focusing a little too much on living that rockstar life with all the travelling to different countries etc, he's been out and about way too much in recent months when he should've been taking his training camp more seriously.

I don’t think it would’ve mattered. Alex can lock in for the next 6 months or whatever until a rematch and I can see the same bullshit happening for 5 more rounds.

Alex being neutralized with wall and stall/take down defense and not being able to generate significant offense fighting backwards. While Ank avoids damage with his ultra conservative style. It’s a shitty matchup and bad news for fight fans overall outside of the small Ank fan base.

Yeah, so just move along and find something else to do. You seem butthurt because Poatan lost and have difficulty coming to terms with it. What I wrote above, made me believe firmly he was going to lose and he did. I had been saying this all along. You can go and look at my posts before the fight. I never asked you for approvals. I stated my opinion based on exactly the events that occured and how they manifest themselves to his mindset before the fight.

Do you feel better that you got the last word like a woman needs to? I hope so.

Yup. He was the one that for the longest time, people were asking for that match, knowing that he brought a lot of problems. And he deserves it, he's been working hard, it also looked like Alex wasn't all there tonight, but that's whatever.

How is Ankalaev to blame when he was pressuring Alex the whole 5 rounds moving forward and engaging while Alex was running away because he knew he would get taken down in the center of the Octagon? He wanted to be close to the cage so that he could defend takedowns. Ankalaev was the one who was pushing the pace while Alex was completely on his back foot. How is that Ankalaev's fault?

Not only Ank won the belt, he’s the proud owner of a bunch of grandsons tonight….Sean, Izzy, Jiri, Jamahal, Khalil.

I know Poatan lost and I knew he was going to all along. It is only a UFC fight. Poatan will be fine. It is more like you are p*ssed off like a woman because your favorite fighter lost.

Oh, and CHAMA!

Damn you sound soft as baby shit. You make it sound like Ank won by a spectacular finish or something. He barely “won” a boring ass forgettable decision with a lame ass performance. You Ank fans can be happy but he fucking sucks as a champ and this is a big L for the sport.

I like Ank. But I like Alex better. And I like Jiri the most. It is what it is.

Go look at the fight stats. They state otherwise. It was a very decisive (and unanimous win). It was not a total domination, but it was a very decisive win despite what a few butthurt Poatan fans are trying to claim robbery.

I don’t need to look at a stat sheet. I saw the fight. It was a “unanimous win” because of 1 fucktard judges scorecard. There was nothing decisive about that fight except it being boring and forgettable.
