Overeem opens up as an underdog vs Miocic

He would be a favorite if it wasn't for his ( their ? ) chin ( s )...
 
I'd drop some cash on Overeem if he wasn't so chinny. Probably going to stay away from this fight its too close to call.
 
Don't think anyone would've believe you if you said back in 2014 that MIocic or Reem would be the HW champ in 2016.
 
I bet the odds will level out to just about even odds come fight time. Stipe has the new champ "I KO'd Werdum in a minute" aura right now. As the date draws closer, so will the odds.

I was hoping the odds would stay the same but I agree that they will move as the fight gets closer.

If these were the odds at fight time then it would be good money to bet on the Reem. He wins this fight 9 times out of 10.

Stipe is for he most part very one dimensional when he fights. Overeem has too many weapons.

Stipe is a worse version of JDS. Overeem has seen it all and doesn't care about the take downs of Miocic that is for sure.
 
Id say the odds should be closer to -130 for stipe and EVEN on Overeem. Any Overeem fight against a competent stand up artist seems like a coin toss to me. It just takes one somewhat solid shot to rock him and then he turtles up till you kill him (He's used to being able to with all his k1 experience). Some fighters are dumb enough to just wail away and not pick their shots and allow him to recover (Arlovski) but really he is one of the biggest kill or be killed fighters out there.

I hope they do also. A lot of casuals are hopping on the fake Cleveland and Croation gimmick.

You're spot on about Cruz, I followed that line religiously until I thought I got him at the best odds possible. Knew he'd win.
 
Overeem doesn't have a great chin and he sometimes lacks heart. If not for this, Miocic would be a significant underdog as Overeem is probably better at everything except taking damage and overcoming tough spots. I'm not quite sure who to pick. Overeem is by far the more devastating striker and has more tools to win, but Miocic can take a beating but can also be knocked out. Even though Overeem has some shortcomings, I still think he'll win. Miocic isn't a brawler, he fights quite technically which is a style that suits Overeem the best. If Miocic decides to blitz Overeem like Arlovski did, he can definitely win by KO, but if he's not overly aggressive I think Overeem will find Miocic's chin and knock him out. I like Miocic but it would be fun to see him get knocked out purely based on the one major delusional Miocic nuthugger lurking around on Sherdog.
