I know right? Shogun's stock dropped a bit after his losses to Forrest, but Jones hadn't proved to be a great yet at the time.

But people saw the potential of Jones and hyped him up. I thought Jones was amazing at the time. This was also the best Jones we ever had -- a dynamic, aggressive fighter who went for the kill.

He had a lot of hype and momentum behind him.

So it's understandable.

Not a smart idea to bring this to the ground. Stipe has better chances on the feet, where he has a puncher's chance.

Agreed. I favored jones at the time also but u nailed it, i wouldnt have thought he was proven enough to be the odds favorite! Good on the oddsmakers for that one.

Take this to the betting forum. The reason Stipe is a favorite is Overeem's glass chin. If it weren't for that weakness Alistair would likely be the favorite. High chance Stipe knocks out Overeem.

This is pretty much what everyone said about the JDS fight and we all know how that ended. If you're a heavyweight and your base is striking, you're gonna eventually go to sleep every now and then. These aren't midgets he's fighting.
