Apparently it is considered destruction of city property to throw weights in an empty field. In the words of Gob from Arrested Development:

Mind you, the ticket is only for $35.... but still

That sucks, what were you doing? Shot put?

Contest it and see what reason they kick up

Was there lawn that you were destroying? If it's really just a field... that seems kind of retarded.

Don't they have any actual crime in ON? Jaywalkers and littering fines would be a step up in law enforcement from strength fines.

If it was a soccer field or something, then I could see why you'd get a ticket, because you're putting divots in the field.

If it's grassy and mowed and in a park or somethng I can understand why they would be pissed, but fuck if it's some empty piece of land I'd contest it.

Well, the area is part of a public park, so I suppose I was damaging a "lawn" of sorts. I made sure to do it in area that was not being maintained though (it borders a trail, so mostly high grass and low bushes)

The only reason I know that guy has something to do with humour is because they took the piss out of him on the simpsons, but I have no idea who he is

Barney Fife, deputy sheriff of Mayberry, North Carolina, on the old U.S. TV show "The Andy Griffith Show." Hilarious character. In the U.S., he's the poster boy for overzealous law enforcement.

And I assumed he has the physique of the kind of cop who would give that type of ticket. Either that one or this ---> ( )

Don Knotts aka Barney Fife, co-starred on the Andy Griffith show and earned five consecutive emmys for best supporting actor--a feat that no one else has touched--he was also landlord Ralph Furley on Threes Company--he also did a ton of comedy movies and is considered a legend in the business

Two people got stabbed to death in Brampton yesterday.

Yah I didnt read the whole story, but on the cover of the Toronto Sun it said something about the one person was trying to help the other one who was bleeding really badly... and the psycho guy who was going to commit suicide anyways... decided to shank the other person aswell?
