Nah it's not that really. It's just those movies REALLY aren't all that great. Neither of them really blew my socks off. It's just blatantly obvious that half of them were picked for those very reasons alone and not on their own merits.

The majority of the posts are saying that they were nominated because of a SJW agenda. -Thats what my post was about.

Not the truth that they were good movies, in a field of competitors that weren't noteworthy.

The year had nothing remarkable like Schindlers List to rise to the top.

Ok then. What does others think should have been the best picture nom for 2018?

Mine: A Quiet Place.

Here's why. It was ground-breaking. Sure there is a lot of movies with little sound in them but how many movies have you gone to see where it shut the ENTIRE movie theatre up. I was afraid to drink my damn coke because of how loud my straw was.

Dramatic without being sappy. They didn't even need to say much to act well, stellar job by the whole family in there.

Action that does not go above bored.

Actually suspenseful.

One of the very few movies I've actually purchased to own in a long, long ass time.
