Media Opening betting odds for recently announced UFC 322 fights

Going to piss off lots of JDM defenders who think a 48-47 war with Belal will be the same as with Islam. Islam was a big LW, not going to be a tiny WW. Stylistically, his ground style will be like Burns/JDM fight 10x, with Islam in his prime and not close to retiring by age. Odds actually better for Islam than I thought, I was prepared for Khamzat/DDP odds.

Shevchenko is on her last legs and Weili is so inactive and not really a world beater. I think maybe Weili should be a slight favorite, probably will be closer to the fight, but it's not like she is some straw weight force that's unstoppable.

Vegas never lies. Well unless you get stupid popular fighters like Conor or someone vs nobodies.

Outside of Rose fights and the first JJ fight, what you mean she is not a world beater? Seriously, wtf are you talking about with that horrible observation?

You're sleeping on Weili. She's gotten better to where she IS actually a straw weight force that might be unstoppable. She's made herself into a dominant grappler. Getting her at dog odds was such a gift vs Tatiana. I just regret not betting more. People thinking Tatiana would just wrestle and ragdoll Weili weren't paying attention to how good a grappler Weili has become.

Val is a GOAT candidate for sure but she's lost a bit of speed. She's made up for it by becoming a very good grappler but she will be nullified there. She's a little bigger, but imo it won't matter. They're only a year and a half apart in age, but the mileage gap is WAY wider. Val with her kickboxing career then long MMA career has for more tread off her tires. Weili will be faster, about as physically strong, with probably a bit better cardio.

It's a great fight, but I'll absolutely be betting Weili with a good amount of confidence.

They look ok to me. Islam should be a clear favourite here. Weili not so much, but Valentina is not getting younger.
Fingers crossed for the underdogs!

I've got Islam as a slight favorite, but Islam at the very least won't have a size advantage. I also think JDM is getting better with every fight, so we will see the best version of him, whereas Islam has almost certainly hit a plateau at this point in his career.

I would be surprised if Islam dominated JDM like Khamzat dominated DDP. But I still expect Islam to find a way to win via experience.

Exactly, and Islam will only have a few months to shore up his wrestling to Basil Haffez' level.
Good news JDM, you already have the tools.

Islam has had trouble putting on quality weight, he may not have been a small LW but he certainly isn't going to be a large WW. JDM is guaranteed to be the larger man, which Islam really hasn't dealt with. That intrigues me about the fight off the bat.

I live in Vegas, Vegas lies and gets it wrong all the time (hello underdog winners almost every card), but the odds aren't anything crazy.
Islam being the favorite isn't completely surprising, -200 implies Islam has a 66% of winning, I thought the line would open much wider initially with Islam at a -300 or more, which I would have called overinflated. This is actually a more knowledgeable line than the bookies have on average for a fight with a well known name like Islam, especially since the consensus so far has been "Islam double champ."

Should be a good fight. It will be JDM's third straight grappling focused camp, with Craig Jones at the helm, theoretically this could be the ultimate test we've seen so far of "Is dagestani wrestling solved?"

She doesn't have any skill right now that is championship level in my opinion. She sort of is well rounded and wins wherever he opponent is weak at. I can see a better striker against her that can't be taken down or a better wrestler that won't get subbed beating Weili. I'm sorry but I think she's champion because the division has so many flaws moreso she has a skill above everyone else.

Her fight with Yan was pretty bad. Not saying she hasn't been dominant, but she should've been able to get the finish. No reason we needed 5 rounds of that. Suarez was more of a worse stylistic matchup so fair enough, but still hasn't finished anyone since 2022.

Both Weili and Shev seemed to start as a good striker and as their career progressed they turned into more of a grappler. Even Valentina hasn't finished anyone since 2021.

I See this fight as 50-50 and so does Khabib´s camp including Makhachev himself, they are very nervous for this fight due to JDM arguably being the best striker in the UFC currently. The bastard has very crisp striking this has team khabib second guessing their game plans and constantly adjusting their game plan

Weili is good, but her chin is questionable. She's getting wobbled and hurt and dropped far too often in striking exchanges. Fortunately for her, she's developped a verry good grappling game and has been able to force that grappling on people who can strike. I'm not sure if she'll have that luxury against val, especially since she'll be smaller.

I just hope the winner fights Natalia, because she deserves that fight.

Islam has never had Belal's chin. No islam fan should wish for even one round of this Islam vs. JDM fight looks anything like that JDM/belal fight. And if the grappling looks like burns vs. jdm 10x, then doesn't that imply that you think jdm will be hitting some of the most creative sweeps and reversals yet again? Also, you do realize Jack fought a large portion of that fight with a broken arm, right?

Weili isn't a finisher as she ages the same way GSP started as one and became a guy who just won lopsided decisions. Maybe she's a bit less exciting now, but she's reliable AF and insanely skilled.

I was actually gonna point out that her one potential crack in the armor can be her chin. It's a fair point. Val will be a little bigger but imo she looked noticeably slower vs Manon in the exchanges than she used to. Weili should be able to get her shots off first, and it may well end up with Val trying to grapple. But Weili isn't Grasso. Tatiana found out what it's like trying to put Weili on her back.

Edit: and yes Silva is next 100%
