One truth about Makachev that none of us like to admit

Who are more likely going to KO you Topuria in LW or JDM in WW? Sorry but Makhachev took easier challenge for him, but its completely normal for these dudes to take easier and smooth ways and not to risk anything because of their "legacy". - I personally think that its stupid as f, but it works for them perfectly, especially when people glaze them "up to the the moon."

BTW fact that they already advocating for Makhachev vs Usman absolutely cements this...

Also dont forget that Makhachev got to title shot by beating Bobby Green, at same time he talk sh*t to Pimblett - "He dont deserve title shot, etc.." and trying to secure title shot for co-member of same managment which ducked Gamrot. Like f hell, isn't this shit pathetic?
I didn’t know you could get CTE from sherdog posts, but here we are.

Also, fuck this “bigger challenge” nonsense….islam is going for a second belt just like Ilia. Why should he put his legacy on hold just to cater to the Spanish-Georgian midget? The only difference between them is that Islam DESERVED to fight for a second belt while ilia didn’t.

He's not wrong. He is at the tail end of the generally considered physical prime. Combine that with wear and tear and his insane weight cuts, and I would imagine he is feeling old.

Im not saying prestige doesnt mean anything, but he, and Khabib already achieved plenty of that.

If that makes them #5 or #10 instead of #1 or #2 on someones fanboy nerd GOAT list, who cares?? lol

These guys have a mind to get in and get out while the getting's good, Beating the game instead of the game beating them, it's smart and I dont got a thing bad to say about it.

Its the difference between being considered an ATG vs being in the running for literal greatest fighter ever to enter the sport. If a fighter cares about their legacy i'd say theres a big difference between those two things. Its hardly a niche thing that only nerds argue about either, who the GOAT is is a widely discussed topic in any sport.

I do get that Islam is getting old though. Its just a shame if he, like Khabib, doesnt quite put the resume together in time. Its about time we had a new name enter that Jon, GSP, Fedor, Anderson bracket.

I dont care either. The polishing by his fans is comical, they are acting like he is stepping into HW to fight Ngannou... but what to expect from meme degenerated majority of his fans, right?

BTW i didn't know either but its cool that u are open about ur health.

No one's said that. He is just moving up a division. Yknow, the thing everyone said Khabib was a coward for not doing?? Now he's doing it and it's like

"OH BIG DEAL ANYONE CAN MOVE UP. SCARED OF THE 145ERS WE JUST GOT FINISHED BLASTING HIM FOR FIGHTING PREVIOUSLY REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

The windows in the sherdog building have all shattered from the noise of all that goal post scrapin around

He is simply taking easier way. Same as Ankalaev was doing - for him it worked excellent as well. Got to give u one thing "mad rat" is best manager around, crazy how he build these fighters, literally unreal.

+ Now he as bonus will get Makhachev vs Usman for title after Makhachev wins over JDM. Really funny shit...

If Islam moved up to WW when Volk challenged him you'd say he was taking the easier fight then too.

Brother I think Topuria's almost unbeatable too, but let's not act like people wouldn't criticise Makhachev for not going up and he'd not get called a coward and weight bully or whatever.

Unlike Ilia who fought a washed up chinny 37 yr old Oliveira who wasn’t even the 155 champ. Lool.

JDM is a real challenge unlike Oliveira, they just handed the midget his second belt, didn’t really earn it.

Yeah, 2-3 more fights tops and he'll be done by 35. I think we already knew this for the last couple years.

I hope he defends against Shavkat instead of Usman.

<36>

Iam not even Topuria's fan. It would be 50/50 fight vs Islam. It would be either flashy KO by Topuria or total domination on ground by Islam, nothing between. Tho its more likely that Topuria will catch him than JDM. So praising Makhachev for going for JDM fight instead of Topuria fight is simply stupid. Almost stupid as thinking that heavier fighter is always more dangerous fighter...but u do you.

if he wins is similar to Randy Couture capturing Gold against Tim Sylvia, with the way people has been talking about how “big” Maddalena is compared to Makhachev.
Randy was 44. He was an anomaly, and this wouldn't even be close to that accomplishment.

The two lightest weight class champs are 35 (Pantoja) and 34 (Merab). I don't want to hear any crying or Fedor excuses for Islam suddenly being "past prime" if he starts losing now.

I've lived through both 34 and 44, BTW. Huge difference.

What a stupid take.
No, Islam didn't get a title shot for beating Bobby Green, like no other fighter got ever title shot by beating Bobby Green.
Islam was on UFC 10 wins streak, 4th in ranking with both Gathje and Poirer being right after loses to Oliveira.
It was well deserved TS.

Why do you fight Bobby Green when u are on 9 fight win streak? Because u want easy way to title. It was same sh.t with Ankalaev, Ankalaev which was hardly advocating for no rematch with Pereira but fight with Ulberg instead... :D

To be fair if he does win this fight the only thing he really has left to achieve is losing. So maybe he should walk away.
Yeah wont that be fun.
Islam can go into any press conference and say "I have achieve all my legacy. Now who can give me lose"
