Tarec Saffiedine (Strikeforce) - Looked like a top 10 performer against a juiced-up Nate Marquardt in Strikeforce's last event and became their last WW champion. Couldn't have had a better headstart into his UFC career. Injuries happend and he ended up with an overall mediocre UFC career.
I jumped all on the Tarec Saffiedine wagon when he got signed and unfortunately, he ended being a top 5 bust of all time.

He came into the UFC at age 26 already the Strikeforce champ, BJJ blackbelt, well rounded striking, and he trained at multiple high-level camps. He was a UFC contender in the making (good wins, high IQ, young, big for the weight class, extremely well rounded, granite chin).

Most of his UFC performances he was super gun shy and half the time he didn't even look like he even wanted to be in the octagon in his fights. 6 years in the UFC and only had 2 decision wins.

Was he really never that great (jack of all trades master of none) or did injuries/pressure just get to him?

Eh, that guy was supposed to be a striking specialist but he only ever had 1 KO on his record.

Steve Jennum was the first one i thought of
Good one. I can always count on my Sabbath brethren to have a good one. Carlos Newton came to my mind. He went 5 and 9 after they woke Hughes up and told him he won. Dave Menne did not have a solid win after losing the belt too.

Nicco Montano is the "I found my ufc title in a cracker Jack's box" of paper champs.

She won a belt in a reality show and got handed that lame ass fake ass belt in her first official UFC bout and ONLY official UFC win if I am not mistaken. And that win was over an injury replacement who already LOST in the single elimination tournament of soccer moms.
