1) If Canada elects Pierre and the conservatives, will these tariffs disappear? Is this a way to influence our election? If not.......

I don't believe for a second that trudeau actually cares about canada and its people. This fucking piece of shit was charging tax payers $1500 a week for his groceries. The man is rich. Why does he need to charge tax payers for his groceries? His net worth has exploded during his years of being PM. He makes aprox $350k plus bonuses a year as PM but he's worth over $100 million now. He was worth $1.2 million before taking office.

Since I'm a bit older, let's talk about the tech that Canada gave away.

- cell networks. The term 'cell' was coined by my 4th year microwaves professor.
- nuclear. Canada had the most advanced nuclear generation tech. Thanks to environmentalists, that lead went to shit
- fiberoptics to drive the interwebs. Fiber world was ahead of everyone.
- computer drawing packages (Corel draw). Don't laugh so hard, they were the standard at one time.
- smart phones (RIMM).
- data switching networking equipment. Yup, Nortel and Newbridge were ahead of Cisco.
- CAR T therapy (let's not even talk about this one)
- Cobalt-60 cancer therapy (I'm in this lineal academic tree)

tl;dr Canada is great at developing world changing technologies and even better at giving it away with no monetary value in return.

Why don't we turn the page and view this tariff crisis as the spark to create a prosperous economy that is less dependent on the US?

You don't recognize more freedom when you see it. What do you think happens to citizens' freedoms when the government is reduced? Regulations are removed? Hitler? That's not how Adolf worked.

Canada has been hitting Americans with tariffs for a very long time abusing our farmers, auto makers, manufacturers, and steel and metal industry. The amount of penalty we've seen ranges from 25% Steel to 298% on dairy. So a 25% tariff is being kind. I'd like the tariffs on Canada and Mexico to be mirror in nature. We can all drop them or raise them... we're just mimicking your country.

There's personal freedom and then there's "economic freedom".

Trump is threatening to jail protestors on college campuses, that's infringing upon personal freedom specifically freedom of speech covered in the first amendment to the US constitution.

Removing regulations on businesses? That's economic freedom, meaning that those businesses are now more free to defraud US citizens and pollute our air, soil, and water.

Trumps actions so far show that he's an enemy of personal freedom and an enemy of the US constitution.

See above: I'm not really interested in making excuses for Trudeau, nor pretend he's a great leader, nor anything else along those lines.
