The whole mainstream or “liberal” News model is to be as impartial as possible so they platform all sorts of characters to give all sides a voice even when it’s ridiculous. Not to mention, Trump Donor, Jon Malone owns CNN for crying out loud.

So it’s not as partisan as right wingers want you to believe. It’s no way in the same tier as FOX or the Daily Wire…

It's not so much that government intervention is "the fix", but more an absolute requirement. The battle of society is almost entirely about what the government should or shouldn't do.
