Law Old man Trump just signed an EO that wiped out every environmental protection act of last 100 years

Read the press release accompanying this for further clarification, and I'm the one in an echo chamber?

Trump, in this second term has made it pretty clear that he's more than capable of fucking things up for the sake of profit seeking for corporate types. The stste of tye environment isn't like tye state of education. You can't slash environmental protection and then just reinstate jt a decade later abd everything comes back to where it was. Sone ecological systems take thousands of years to recover. Species never come back ince extinct

I think you'd have to be pretty naive to think there isn't massive environmental destruction coming down the pike. And the trump Whitehouse spinning it as no big deal might be enough to satisfy the likes of you and seano, but some of us, as you admitted earlier in this thread are more capable of thinking things through instead of smugly condescending to people who see the writing on the wall.
Snap out of it Stump. Nothing is being eliminated. You just have to click a button once a year that says “Renew”.

Any bets on how the cultists are going to spin this one?

we still gotta wait for tucker, benny johnson, and catturd to come on to give them their marching orders. whatever orange messiah does is good. everything else is bad and is all the lefts fault. that's pretty much the extent of their thought capability.

This is but the latest part of the overall onslaught on environmental protection in favour of pro-development reduction of emissions limits and oversight funding.

It's absolutely true that environmental protection, safe Guards and pollution standards are being eliminated.

Look at Trump's appointments - oil and gas advocates in supposed environmental protection positions.

If you think that those of us who are concerned about the clearing of environmental and pollution standards are merely freaking out over nothing, and we should instead console ourselves by reading the press releases published by the same government responsible for them, you're just wrong, mate

No, it’s just about efficiency. Instead of implementing a regulation without an end date, that outlives its useful life, you require a yearly renewal.

They give this shit a pass. That's why I cannot take @Deorum seriously. He's a smart guy, and he knows what is happening. It's sad that him and others are going down that road. Making excuses. It's disgusting.

What excuses? This shouldn't be difficult to demonstrate.

Your people are literally shitting in your water.
<Moyes5>

They aren't my people. I categorically rule out the very idea of voting Republican, and this completely unworkable, hilariously illegal, and thunderously stupid EO based policy proposal is one of the reasons. You seem to have this impression simply based on the fact that I support strong border security and the enforcement of the country's territorial integrity. It's like comparing apples to orangutans, bruh.

{<jordan}

So where are the excuses?

Uh, I'm pretty sure leaving the regulations be until someone decides a particular one needs to be reviewed is a tad more efficient than poring over every single environmental regulation—which is literally hundreds of thousands of pages of material—every single year.

You people are absolute drones. Zero thought whatsoever.

@Crazy Source

When a British based rag outlet publishes a wild claim about 280 million acres of American wilderness being put on the chopping block for clear-cutting with prized forests at risk and I say "No", that isn't a defense of nor an excuse for the retarded executive order. It's a familiarity with US conservation and environmental law. And I was right, wasn't I? Yeah, I was. It was fucking obvious when IUCN Level I & II lands were already excluded from the jump.

An environment thread... Better tag NoDak!
<LikeReally5>

My six year old has a better grasp of this shit than middle-aged burnie bros, FFS. I wonder exactly how many environmental Acts of Congress these morons believe have been "wiped out" as a result of this? Don't say zero, because then you're defending Drimp! It doesn't matter if that's a fact.

You are on the wrong side of this. I won't argue.

You sound angry.

So, how does billionaire dick taste!!?!?!1 😤

It's like working in a factory and cheering for the deregulation of OSHA. Great if you are a business and terrible for everyone else in the area.
In related news, I'm pretty sure OSHA is on the chopping block as well. Or is at least in the conversation.

If these wailing goofs can't manage to get their approval rating above 20% by the midterms and fail to take back the House at minimum, then we're going to have a real problem. I'm probably voting Dem next year in support of the gridlock alone.

Yeah, that's a rub with my fellow liberals. The absolute best meal I have ever had was when I shot a spike buck and my father and I dressed it out.....back strap sliced thin....floured fried....homemade biscuits...my pop's gf made the best biscuits
Sounds so delicious.

I miss eating moose heart. My dad was a high ranked game warden and his men often gave him hearts once they learned it was my mom's favourite cut.

Get out of your echo chamber. The order is to require annual renewals on regulations, it’s not doing away with any. You’re hysterical because your team told you to be. Read this, take a few deep breaths, and tell yourself it’s going to be ok. Breathe sherbro. Breathe.

The regulations listed (like the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 for example) are acts, which are laws, passed by congress. I don’t think the potus can just decide certain laws must expire by Executive Order. Maybe I am wrong, but this looks like a bullshit EO to me.
