Level 4: Smart Delivery (Free Special Upgrade + Dual Entitlement)
However, Borderlands 3 is not a "Smart Delivery" title.

Think as of yesterday it is a Smart Delivery title now, your list from yesterday's xbox article says it is too, checked a few sites and they are using that same list

Launch titles are meh. But cyberpunk comes out a few days later so I'm pretty excited. I missed the preorder window, but a dude I work with preordered 2. So he's selling me one.

But, even more, say you don't own it on the Xbox One. You buy it on the Xbox Series X for the first time. Because it is a Smart Delivery title, you now are also entitled to download and play it for free on the Xbox One.

<{vega}>

i can't see any reaction more appropriate than "okay, thanks i guess" lol

Is it not clear? The lesser free upgrade services (on PS5 and Xbox) only give you a free upgrade for an old game to an optimized version on the newer consoles. Smart Delivery, on the other hand, means you also own games you buy on the newer Series X on your older Xbox One, too.

Sure, most won't need that, but say you live in a college pad with multiple guys who like to play games. You can put the main system out in the common area, and still play games you bought on your older console in your room (or vice versa).

Shit, no, I picked that off the wrong list. It was already both a PS5 Upgrade and a Smart Access title. I'll fix that with an example that is less confusing.

Xbox Series X/S Expansions cards are using modified CFexpress Devices

On the contrary. Your reading comprehension is lacking

I tend to glaze over ppl who shitpost 4-5 posts in a row, on the same page, quoting and requesting themselves.

I’ve seen you in the WR too, buddy.

Fuck, Street Fighter better not be exclusive this time because it would be the only reason for me to get a PS5.

Is it possible to recoup a $7.5 billion investment if you don’t sell Elder Scrolls VI on the PlayStation?” I asked.

“Yes,” Spencer quickly replied.

Then he paused.

“I don’t want to be flip about that,” he added. “This deal was not done to take games away from another player base like that. Nowhere in the documentation that we put together was: ‘How do we keep other players from playing these games?’ We want more people to be able to play games, not fewer people to be able to go play games. But I’ll also say in the model—I’m just answering directly the question that you had—when I think about where people are going to be playing and the number of devices that we had, and we have xCloud and PC and Game Pass and our console base, I don’t have to go ship those games on any other platform other than the platforms that we support in order to kind of make the deal work for us. Whatever that means.”

Spencer told me that “it doesn’t feel sustainable” to consider Xbox games on a case by case basis for Switch and said, “In order to really support it, I would want a full Xbox ecosystem somewhere. And that probably means things like Live and Game Pass and stuff.” He said something similar in July during an interview with GameStar, though the answer has changed slightly. Back then he said that “the other competitive platforms aren’t really that interested in having a full Xbox experience on their hardware.” I cited that answer to him and asked if it was still the case with Sony and Nintendo. “I don’t want to speak for them,” he said. “I think they should probably answer.”

Considering MS is gonna get a cut of every copy of TES6 or whatever BGS game gets put out makes it stupid for them to not release them on the PS5. Yes, they are in direct competition with Sony but there are going to be 10s of millions of people who are going to buy a Playstation regardless of what Microsoft does, so why not make $70 off them? Im sure MS will make a killing on game pass subscribers too, I will likely be one of them? You're just being foolish if you think not selling your product on the most popular platform is good for business.

I think it's more foolish to think that Microsoft needs the quick easy money when getting as many people possible on to Game Pass is their obvious number one goal, that was the whole purpose of the Bethesda purchase and that's exactly why they been buying studios left and right over the past few years, everything is about Game Pass when it comes to Microsoft now.

-Cheap Series S,
-Most powerful console Series X
-PC gaming market
-XCloud, mobile gaming market

They don't need or want to sell their titles through the competition.

The long-term strategy of Microsoft is for Gamepass to become the Netflix of Gaming.. through the platforms of Xbox, PC and XCloud.

And how do you attract consumers to your service.. exclusive content.

The only way Bethesda IP's past Deathloop and Ghostwire are coming to to Playstation, is if Gamepass somehow makes it's way to Sony's platform.. which is incredibly unlikely.

Wouldn’t that same logic apply to Sony and Nintendo too? Why don’t they sell their games on each other’s platforms? The point is to get people to buy an Xbox or buy the games on PC. Really the point is to get people to sign up for game pass so if Sony and Nintendo don’t allow game pass on their consoles I don’t why Microsoft would or should sell their exclusives on their consoles.

-XCloud, you don't even need a console or PC

Im not disagreeing that they could recoup the cost, im simply saying they're leaving money on the table.

I think maybe somewhere down the line that's possible and they could eventually get there, but not now when you got your ass kicked by Sony this generation. If MS thinks they're going to flip the console war in one fell swoop I think they're nuts.

Microsoft is thinking console/PC/mobile, you're thinking just consoles.
