Xbox Official Xbox thread

This engine seems more demanding than it looks.

Definitely. If they're running it at 1440p on the XSX to hit a stable 60fps, there's no way the RTX 2080 Ti will run 4K. It will take the RTX 3080 at a minimum, and even that card might struggle. We are talking about 2.25x as many pixels to render without any DRS, after all.

ITT: people still pretending they can’t tell the difference between 30 and 60fps. I have a 100hz monitor on my desktop, and a laptop with a 144hz screen. The difference is very clear.
Going from my 165hz monitor to my 60hz laptop is very jarring lol

@Dizzy concern trolling..?

At 7:30.

It’s not stable at 1440p, hence the need for the 1080p mode.

It’s also suffering drops into the 20s at 4K.

Stop being pathetic. You didn't read your own article, and now you're desperately trying to save face by selectively citing a DF video that once again contradicts your ignorance of that same Kitguru article. It doesn't have issues at 1440p, and the person in the video explicitly highlights that the "Normal" mode is the ideal of the three. Your reliable ignorance of framerate variance and industry norms deluded you into believing you could save your embarrassingly careless fumble by pointing to rare minimum drops as a failure to sustain the target. What you don't realize is that this would disqualify virtually every console game ever from the 30fps or 60fps target they sustain as their target.

The XSX is an objectively superior machine, fanboy. You can't wish this away with your biased ignorance.

There’s literally drops at 1440p or why the fuck would they include a frame rate option for 1080p? Lmao

Wow. First you didn't read an article you linked, and now you clearly don't comprehend a simple paragraph I just wrote explaining what you got wrong in your Hail Mary to save face.

Perhaps in live gameplay but all of the comments I've made (and others) are about comparison videos on youtube and other social media. Whenever I look at these vids I don't see any differences at all.

Now with live gameplay I haven't noticed because I've never actually ran a test comparing a 30 FPS game to 60 FPS of the same game. If I run Ghost of Tsushima at 30 FPS on PS4 it looks smooth to me and I can't tell how different it is to running RE2 @ 60 FPS on my comp.

Come to think of it.. RE has a framerate adjustment feature on the PC. Maybe i'll tinker around with it and see if I can tell. I should be able to.

What resolution do you need to run at a locked 60 FPS?

What resolution do you need to run at a locked 60 FPS?
Is "locked" the industry standard? Does a game that fails to maintain 60fps as the minimum for every microsecond of a game failing to maintain that target?

Please. Keep talking. Commit to your ignorance before I blast you for the fanboy you are.

Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge.

You don't know what "Locked FPS" means. You think you do, in your ignorance, but in reality, "locked" isn't really "locked".

So I'll ask you a simple question one more time. If a game cannot sustain the target fps for every second of the game, does that entail that it is failing to run at the quoted target?

It wasn't too long ago you were making fun of the PS5 for running games at 4K 30 FPS:

"The PS5 doesn't struggle to run 4K! It runs 4K@30fps just great!!!"

<{Heymansnicker}>

But now you're defending the Series X for running Yakuza at 4K/30FPS. You want that 60 FPS on Series X? That'll be at 1440p resolution...

Classic case of trolling backfiring on you...

Per the video made by someone much more qualified than yourself:

“The 1080p frame rate mode exists for a reason. There are occasional frame rate drops” “For anyone looking for a strict 60 FPS lock, the option is there too” (in regards to the high frame rate mode).

It drops into the 50s and occasionally the 30s at 1440p. At 4K it can drop into the 20s. My gosh.

Oh, look at that. I tangled a second Sony fanboy without even trying. Okay, I'd say I've made you two suffer enough.

So Demon's Souls runs at 4K@60fps on the PS5, right? I recall you buys were super proud of that. Except....

There are occasional framerate drops to the mid-50's, and screen tearing. Thus, by your own ignorant metric, Demon's Souls does not maintain 4K@60fps on the PS5.
